The Fiji archipelago consists of tiny coral atolls and mountainous forest-clad islands of volcanic origin, and is famed for its aquamarine waters and white sand beaches. Lautoka, meaning “spear-hit” or “hit to win,” was named that as a result of an argument between two chiefs. It is sited in the western side of the largest island in Fiji. The city is surrounded with the blue Pacific Ocean on the western side and green gold sugar cane and pine trees on the other sides.

PRE - THE HEART OF FIJI - OVERWATER BURE CODE: LATL03
Slip into the rhythm of Fiji, where turquoise lagoons, palm-fringed shores, and warm island hospitality set the tone for an unforgettable escape. From serene days at Momi Bay and tranquil nights spent in an overwater Bure, to immersive encounters with Fiji’s culture, wildlife, and tropical beauty, this pre-cruise retreat offers a taste of paradise before you set sail.
Special Notes:
•This program involves walking over varying distances, occasionally on uneven terrain. As such, it may not be suitable for guests who require the use of a wheelchair, walker, or cane. Participants should be prepared to encounter a range of terrain, including flat surfaces, inclines, and steps.
•If you have any food intolerances or special dietary needs, please inform us prior to your departure for review by our local vendor
DAY 1
Upon arrival at Fiji’s Nadi International Airport, proceed through customs and collect your luggage. After exiting into the Arrivals Concourse, you will be met by our local Meet and Greet representatives along with your private driver and transferred to your hotel.
Note: Couples or pairs will be transferred by private van or SUV (max 4 large bags total plus 1 carry-on per person); solo guests will use a sedan (2 large suitcases plus a carry-on). Extra luggage may require a larger vehicle at additional cost—notify your RSSC booking agent at least 14 days before sailing with this information. Transfers include a driver only.
Hotel check-in time is 2:00pm. If you are arriving on an early flight, you may wish to reserve an additional night to guarantee immediate room availability. Alternatively, you may store your luggage at the hotel reception and begin enjoying the hotel’s facilities while you wait for your room to become available.
The Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay is located on the southwest coast of Viti Levu, along a serene lagoon of glassy turquoise water and pale sand. Framed by wide ocean views and a sense of easy seclusion, the resort strikes a graceful balance between contemporary luxury and Fiji’s warm, unhurried spirit. Days here invite you to drift between lagoon beaches, infinity pools, and indulgent spa moments, or to take to the water with activities such as kayaking and snorkeling. Dining is equally enticing, with venues that range from relaxed seaside settings to refined resort tables, where local flavors meet international favorites against a backdrop of palms, sea, and sky.
Retreat to your distinctive Fijian overwater bure where privacy, romance, and an effortless connection to the lagoon set the scene. Designed for couples, the Over-Water King Bure opens to serene lagoon views and features private stairs leading directly into the water. Inside, high vaulted ceilings, a private outdoor deck, sumptuous bedding, and a spacious bathroom with a freestanding tub and separate shower create a stay that feels both indulgent and deeply relaxing. Maximum occupancy is 2 adults.
A daily breakfast buffet at Goji Kitchen & Bar is included beginning on Day 2, and dinner at the resort is included from Day 1 during regular operating hours. Complimentary free-flow beverages are also part of the experience and may be enjoyed at any restaurant, bar, or lounge during operating hours. Please note that beverages, including wines and spirits, are served by the glass only. Only wines listed by the glass on the menu are included as part of the package.
For any inquiries, there will be an RSSC Representative at a Hospitality Desk located in the lobby near reception from 10:00am to 5:00pm (time will depend on group arrival at the resort)
Note: A guide will not be staying with the group at the hotel. However, during your stay, you will be assigned a Regent representative and provided with contact details should you require anything that the hotel staff cannot assist with. A valid credit card and photo identification matching the name on your reservation is required for incidentals when checking in to the hotel.
DAY 2
Enjoy a full day at leisure at the resort.
Spend the day surrendering to the easy rhythm of island life. Stretch out in a hammock beneath swaying palms, settle into a sun lounger by the lagoon, and let the hush of the water and the rustle of the breeze slow the world to a gentler pace. This is the kind of place where afternoons slip by in golden light and doing very little feels like the ultimate luxury.
When it’s time to cool off, choose your own version of paradise: the sparkling Main Pool, the serene adults-only Sunset Infinity Pool, or the calm turquoise waters of the resort’s sheltered lagoon, ideal for an effortless swim. For a little adventure, take to the water with a kayak or stand-up paddleboard and drift across the glassy surface, discovering Momi Bay from a fresh perspective.
Beyond the shoreline, the resort offers small moments of connection to Fijian culture and wellness. Watch a traditional fish-feeding ritual, learn the art of coconut husking, or retreat to the spa for a restorative treatment. Whether you’re in the mood for stillness or discovery, each experience adds another layer to the gentle magic of Fiji.
The Premium meal and beverage package is included. Please note that beverages, including wines and spirits, are served by the glass only. Only wines listed by the glass on the menu are included as part of the package.
DAY 3
After breakfast, meet your guide in the lobby and set out along Fiji’s scenic Coral Coast, where emerald hills, village life, and glimpses of the sea create one of Viti Levu’s most captivating drives.
Your first stop is the award-winning Kula Eco & Wildlife Park, a sanctuary devoted to the protection of Fiji’s extraordinary native species. On a guided walk through lush, forested pathways, encounter vibrant parrots, reptiles, and other island wildlife while gaining insight into the conservation work helping preserve these rare ecosystems. Interactive bird experiences and marine exhibits filled with tropical fish and coral add another vivid layer to this immersive introduction to Fiji’s natural world.
A light lunch with soft drinks and water will be served in a relaxed natural setting within the park before the day continues to the home of Fiji’s wild-harvested coffee. Here, you’ll follow the journey from tree to cup, discover how beans are traditionally processed by local communities, and enjoy a freshly brewed tasting that offers a flavorful glimpse into the Pacific’s coffee culture.
The afternoon concludes at Momi Battery Historical Park, a compelling WWII site where restored six-inch naval guns and underground bunkers recall Fiji’s strategic role during the 1940s. The setting is as memorable for its beauty as for its history, with sweeping views across Momi Bay and the Malolo Passage providing a dramatic finale to the day’s journey.
Back at the resort, enjoy dinner at any of the restaurants.
DAY 4
Following breakfast at the hotel, meet your guide in the lobby for a transfer to Sigatoka Town, where today’s adventure leads you deep into the lush interior of Viti Levu. The Sigatoka River Safari is one of Fiji’s signature eco-cultural experiences, pairing a thrilling ride aboard a custom-built safari jet boat with a warm and meaningful introduction to village life along the island’s longest river.
As you skim upriver through the fertile Sigatoka Valley—often called Fiji’s “salad bowl”—you’ll pass dramatic scenery, riverside settlements, and forested hills while your captain shares stories of the river’s history and its enduring importance to local communities.
The journey culminates in a visit to one of the safari’s remote partner villages, where you’ll be welcomed with a traditional kava ceremony, enjoy a guided glimpse into everyday Fijian life, and share a freshly prepared village lunch.
Together, the exhilarating river ride and authentic cultural exchange create a memorable day that reveals the heart and soul of Fiji far beyond the resort coast.
After this adventurous day, return to the resort for a relaxed evening at leisure, with dinner included at any restaurant.
Special Notes:
•This is a true "safari" through rural Fiji. Depending on the village you visit and recent weather, you may encounter uneven, muddy, or grassy terrain. We recommend wearing sturdy, comfortable walking shoes or sports sandals that can handle a bit of dirt.
•The "Splash" Factor: Part of the fun is the speed! Please be aware that you will likely get wet during the jet boat ride, especially during our signature 360-degree spins. We suggest bringing a change of clothes and a towel, and ensuring your electronics are in waterproof bags.
•Your lunch is a special meal prepared with love by our host communities. This is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy authentic, local Fijian flavors in a communal setting. While the traditional Kava ceremony is a cornerstone of the village welcome, tasting the Kava is not mandatory. You are more than welcome to try a "low tide" (small) bowl to experience the local custom, but please feel free to politely decline if you prefer—your hosts will not be offended!
DAY 5
Following breakfast at the hotel, settle any incidentals and check out before meeting your guide. Make a stop in
Nadi Town, Fiji’s third largest city. A brief stop is made for browsing the duty-free shops, clothing boutiques, and local markets for handicrafts.
Next, head to South Sea Orchids, a 9-acre estate and home to the Burness family and their interesting collection of antiques, photographs and bric-à-brac dating back to the family’s emigration from Scotland. Every corner is filled with fascinating stories and rare artifacts. Musical instruments still resonate with the melodies of five generations, crockery gifted by royalty gleams with history, and everyday tools from a bygone era offer a glimpse into life as it once was. Some treasures even date back nearly 300 years!
After refreshing your senses with some delightful Fijian hospitality, you’ll be guided through their extensive nursery, home to over 60,000 vibrant plants. From delicate orchids to stunning anthuriums, this is your chance to see the amazing variety and fragility of Fiji’s tropical flora up close. Learn about some of the plants that form the backbone of Fiji’s horticulture industry and discover why this island paradise is a haven for plant lovers.
Whether you’re a history buff, a nature enthusiast, or just someone looking for a unique and unforgettable experience, this tour will not disappoint.
As your Fijian getaway comes to an end, depart with wonderful memories of cultural experiences, island adventures, and warm hospitality.
After this delightful visit, transfer to the cruise terminal in Lautoka Port and for embarkation.
Special Note: Your luggage will be taken directly to the ship while on tour today. Keep any valuables, medications and documents with you.

Founded by horticulturists Donald and Aileen Burness and now part of a multigenerational family legacy, the nine-acre property is celebrated as one of Fiji’s landmark orchid farms and a pioneer in the country’s floriculture industry.

The experience extends beyond the garden paths into a character-filled homestead where antiques, photographs, and memorabilia reflect the Burness family’s Scottish roots and their long connection to Fiji, adding a fascinating historical layer to this serene botanical retreat.

Retreat to a unique Fijian Lagoonfront Bure which feature high vaulted ceilings, deluxe bedding, and spacious bathrooms with freestanding bathtubs and separate showers. Enjoy spectacular views from your private outdoor deck. (Note: this is not overwater)

Begin your Fijian sojourn with a visit to South Sea Orchid Farm, a lush, family-run estate in Nadi where horticulture, heritage, and island hospitality come beautifully together. Founded by horticulturists Donald and Aileen Burness and now part of a multigenerational family legacy, the nine-acre property is celebrated as one of Fiji’s landmark orchid farms and a pioneer in the country’s floriculture industry.
As you wander through the tropical gardens, you’ll discover a dazzling collection of orchids and anthuriums in bloom, shaded nurseries, and peaceful corners perfumed by the scent of fresh flowers. The experience extends beyond the garden paths into a character-filled homestead where antiques, photographs, and memorabilia reflect the Burness family’s Scottish roots and their long connection to Fiji, adding a fascinating historical layer to this serene botanical retreat.
From there, continue to your retreat on the southwest coast of Viti Levu, where the Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay unfolds along a serene lagoon of glassy turquoise water and pale sand. Framed by wide ocean views and a sense of easy seclusion, the resort strikes a graceful balance between contemporary luxury and Fiji’s warm, unhurried spirit.

Rooms will be ready at approximately 2:00pm. Until then, enjoy the facilities of the resort as well as lunch on own. The remainder of day is at your leisure.

Note: Couples or pairs will be transferred by private van or SUV (max 4 large bags total plus 1 carry-on per person); solo guests will use a sedan (2 large suitcases plus a carry-on).
Retreat to a unique Fijian Oceanfront or Lagoonfront Bure which feature high vaulted ceilings, deluxe bedding, and spacious bathrooms with freestanding bathtubs and separate showers. Enjoy spectacular ocean views from your private outdoor deck. (Note: this is not overwater)
