DAY 1 – December 18, 2026

This epic journey commences in Jeddah with a seamless transfer to Jeddah Airport, where you will board a brief flight to AlUla, an oasis recognized for its historical and natural significance. Upon arrival, you will see the expansive desert landscape which features prominent sandstone formations shaped by wind over thousands of years.

Your first visit is to Hegra, Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site. Transportation at this site is provided via vintage Land Rovers, navigating through ancient Nabataean tombs carved into rose-colored rock faces. A knowledgeable guide will offer insights into the history of the region, including accounts of traders, rulers, and travelers who contributed to AlUla’s legacy along the historic incense trade route.

After your exploration, lunch will be served at Shaden Resort, where the open-air terrace provides views of the surrounding cliffs and desert landscape. The menu features traditional Arabian dishes prepared with locally sourced ingredients, serving as an ideal interlude before the next part of your itinerary.

After your meal, you will proceed to check into your hotel. En route, there will be a brief stop to view the Maraya Concert Hall from the exterior, recognized as the world’s largest mirrored building. Take in its remarkable architecture reflecting the nearby desert cliffs, gain insight into its significance as a cultural venue for concerts and exhibitions and take advantage of this excellent opportunity for notable photography.

Later in the day, the program continues with a walking tour to AlUla Old Town. This historic district features cafés, galleries, and boutique shops within restored mud-brick buildings. Guests can enjoy Arabic coffee and listen to local music. Artisans display handwoven textiles, pottery, and jewelry, showcasing skills developed over centuries. The evening concludes with a visit to the Sharaan Nature Reserve, an unspoiled area characterized by notable canyons, prominent rock formations, and secluded valleys. At Sharaan Camp, guests are received in an authentic Bedouin-inspired environment illuminated by lanterns. Dinner features grilled meats, aromatic rice, and seasoned vegetables served outdoors beneath a clear night sky.

Following your meal, you may relax on comfortable ground cushions while a guide identifies constellations and recounts stories related to Arabian astronomy. DAY 2 – December 19, 2026

Begin your day with a relaxed breakfast at the resort, where morning sunlight illuminates the sandstone cliffs surrounding the property. The subtle sounds of the desert gradually emerge, complemented by plates featuring fresh-baked bread, honey, seasonal fruit, Arabic coffee, and mint tea. This provides a tranquil start before beginning a day of exploration.

The itinerary leads to the ancient city of Dadan, formerly the capital of the Dadanite and Lihyanite kingdoms. Guided tours through these historic ruins offer insight into the traders and rulers who once inhabited the area, with the cliff-carved tombs serving as enduring historical markers of past civilizations.

A brief transfer brings you to Jabal Ikmah, recognized for its extensive inscriptions and rock art. Within this canyon, early Arabic and other languages are seen engraved on the stone walls. Guides interpret these inscriptions, which include prayers, poetry and records from past travelers and tribes, providing a direct connection to the region’s history. Depending on time availability, visitors may further explore the dramatic landscape of jagged peaks and expansive blue skies.

DAY 3 – December 20, 2026

After breakfast, transfer to AlUla Airport, where you will board a flight to Riyadh, the contemporary capital distinguished by its enduring historical legacy. Upon arrival take note as the landscape transitions from skyscrapers and vibrant avenues to expansive boulevards and meticulously preserved heritage districts.

Your first stop is At-Turaif District in Diriyah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized as the birthplace of the Saudi state. Observe mud-brick palaces and fortified walls, their earth-toned facades illuminated by the Arabian sun. As you explore the narrow lanes and restored courtyards, your guide provides insightful commentary on the region’s rulers, significant diplomatic events, and traditions that continue to shape Saudi culture.

Following this historical tour, enjoy lunch at Najd Village, a restaurant esteemed for its authentic Saudi cuisine and renowned hospitality. The interior features traditional décor, including patterned carpets, wooden beams, and brass lanterns, creating a refined ambiance for a meal rooted in local customs. DAY 4 – December 21, 2026

The day commences with breakfast at your hotel, followed by guided tours of the National Museum and the historic Murabba Palace, offering valuable insights into Saudi Arabia’s cultural heritage.

Lunch is served at Bujairi Terrace, which features scenic views of Wadi Hanifa.

The afternoon includes visits to Riyadh’s contemporary landmarks, such as the Kingdom Tower Sky Bridge, as well as an opportunity for shopping before returning to your hotel. The evening is at your leisure with dinner on your own.

DAY 5 – December 22, 2026

Begin your day with breakfast at your hotel, then head to the modern Riyadh Train Station. Board the high-speed train toward Al Ahsa and watch the view shift from cityscape to desert plains to lush date palm groves. The scenic ride offers a comfortable transition to one of the world's largest oases and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Upon arrival, the first stop is Al Qarah Mountain, a geological formation known for its honey-colored cliffs and network of caves that have provided shelter to travelers over time. As you walk through the passageways, the temperature decreases and sunlight enters through small openings, creating patterns on the rock surfaces. The historical significance of the area is explained by your guide, who shares information about traders, pilgrims, and local residents who have visited the site throughout history.

After lunch at a nearby restaurant, continue to Hofuf Downtown, recognized as the cultural center of Al Ahsa. DAY 6 – December 23, 2026

Start your day with breakfast at your hotel, enjoying Arabic coffee, bread, and dates. After checkout, head to AlAhsa Train Station for your return trip to Riyadh. The train ride provides a relaxing transition from the oasis scenery to desert views and time to reflect on your journey.

After arriving in Riyadh, check into your hotel and then head to Aseeb, a well-known restaurant for Saudi cuisine like jareesh, slow-cooked lamb, and aromatic rice, all served in a welcoming atmosphere. It is an ideal spot to relax before continuing your afternoon plans.

The afternoon provides an opportunity to explore the history and traditions of Old Riyadh, where the atmosphere reflects a sense of heritage. Tour Souq Al Zal, a dynamic marketplace known for its distinctive scents such as frankincense, the vivid colors of handwoven rugs, and the display of artfully crafted gold jewelry. Shopkeepers offer courteous greetings, occasionally presenting coffee or sharing information about their products, many of which are handmade using long-standing techniques. The marketplace features items like ornamental daggers, embroidered textiles, and antique collectibles, representing the artistry and ingenuity characteristic of Saudi craftsmanship.

DAY 7 – December 24, 2026

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel and completing check-out procedures, proceed to the airport for a flight to Muscat, Oman. Upon arrival in Muscat, ground transportation will be arranged to transfer you to Muscat Port, marking the conclusion of this remarkable six-night journey through Arabia, leaving you with reflections on Saudi hospitality, its culinary traditions, and memories that connect the region’s storied history to its dynamic present.

Each guest is allowed one checked bag (up to 23 kg/50 lbs.) and one small carry-on item that can fit under the seat in front of you or in the overhead bin.

1.Portable Oxygen Concentrator (POC) - Guests must obtain a Doctor’s Certificate mentioning their medical condition and the need to carry a POC. Further paperwork may be required by the airline.

2.CPAP Machine NOT being used in flight – please advise RSSC at least 95 days before your cruise if you will bring a CPAP on the internal flight(s) used in this land program. Please supply the make, model, and battery type.

3.CPAP Machine to be used during flight – same as above + a doctor’s note is required mentioning the need to use the machine during flight.

*Guests are required to bring with them any details from the manufacturer regarding the CPAP specifications. While most modern CPAP machines are FAA-approved for in-flight use, having a copy of your manufacturer’s FAA-approval status will help to quickly clear any confusion that may arise.

Your day starts with a transfer from Jeddah Port to the airport, where you board a flight to Riyadh. As you travel, the Red Sea’s blue waters fade into desert landscapes before arriving in Saudi Arabia’s capital.

After landing, you visit Historic Diriyah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the birthplace of the Saudi Kingdom. At-Turaif District features impressive mudbrick buildings and landmarks, and your guide shares important stories about Diriyah’s role in Saudi history.

Next, experience authentic regional cuisine at Najd Village, a restaurant designed in traditional Najdi style with wooden beams, embroidered cushions, and subtle lantern lighting. A Saudi lunch is served, including slow-cooked lamb, kabsa rice, freshly baked bread from a clay oven, sweet dates, and Arabic coffee.

A bit later, proceed into Old Riyadh, a district where historical significance endures alongside contemporary development. Luggage information

Each guest is allowed one checked bag (up to 23 kg/50 lbs.) and one small carry-on item that can fit under the seat in front of you or in the overhead bin.

Carriage of Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines on internal flights per airline regulations (subject to change as each airline has their own regulations)

1.Portable Oxygen Concentrator (POC) - Guests must obtain a Doctor’s Certificate mentioning their medical condition and the need to carry a POC. Further paperwork may be required by the airline.

2.CPAP Machine NOT being used in flight – please advise RSSC at least 95 days before your cruise if you will bring a CPAP on the internal flight(s) used in this land program. Please supply the make, model, and battery type.

3.CPAP Machine to be used during flight – same as above + a doctor’s note is required mentioning the need to use the machine during flight.

*Guests are required to bring with them any details from the manufacturer regarding the CPAP specifications. While most modern CPAP machines are FAA-approved for in-flight use, having a copy of your manufacturer’s FAA-approval status will help to quickly clear any confusion that may arise.

* Failure to provide the above details in a timely manner may result in a denial of this equipment at the airport for which Regent Seven Seas Cruises nor our local ground operator will be responsible for.

*Some hotels do not provide distilled water. While we can certainly request this for you, we cannot guarantee that it will be available. If received in a timely manner, at least 95 days before sailing, requests will be sent on the final manifest that our ground operators and hotels receive. We highly recommend packing your own supply, especially on programs that travel to more remote locations in order to avoid not having it. Please keep in mind the rule for liquids in carry-on bags. Many hotels will charge for distilled water. If there is a fee, this will be added to your hotel incidental account to be paid at check-out. Fees will vary from hotel to hotel.

Documents and Visa Requirements:

This program travels within Saudi Arabia.

A passport that is valid for at least 6 months after travel is required. At least one blank page per entry is required.

Please check with your local embassy for any visa requirements for Saud Arabia or Oman for your nationality.

A tourist visa will be required to be obtained prior to arrival in Saudi Arabia.

VERY IMPORTANT

The name on your cruise booking, passport and any visas if required, must all be exactly the same for flight ticket purchase for this program otherwise guests may be denied travel by flight. Please ensure that all documents are identical in spelling to the names provided for your cruise reservation including first, middle and last name. Manifests generated by the cruise line must match your travel documents.

Failure to have the required documents ahead of time will result in denial of travel and guests will have to pay for any expenses incurred in order to not proceed with the program.

Please note: Land programs that encompass multiple days ashore customarily include extensive and prolonged activity, while those of shorter durations typically have more moderate activity levels. However, each program varies, and participants should be prepared to negotiate a mixture of surfaces which may include inclines, cobblestones, sand, and gravel or natural paths. There may also be a need to climb steps or stairs on occasion. Guests who utilize a wheelchair and those with mobility concerns are advised to check with the cruise line in advance to see if any portion of the tour program may not be considered suitable for their individual situation. Weather appropriate clothing; hats; sunglasses; and flat, comfortable walking shoes are generally recommended.

All land programs are capacity controlled and subject to availability. Programs falling under the minimum number of required participants are subject to cancellation. Pricing listed is also subject to change to meet unexpected cost increases for transportation, land arrangements, or currency fluctuations.

Once purchased, pricing is guaranteed and not subject to change. Mid cruise overland programs must be purchased no later than 90 days prior to your sail date. Cancellations made within 90 days or less prior to the sail date are subject to 100% cancellation penalty.
