Past guests enjoy additional savings up to $1,300 per suite on this cruise! Savings vary by suite category.

Travel to Kruger National Park, one of Africa’s premier reserves, for up to four superb game drive opportunities. Here your chances of seeing the Big Five, Little Five and the Birding Six are excellent as you watch from the comfort of an open-air 4x4 vehicle. Spend your leisure time and evenings at Kruger Shalati: Train on the Bridge – a unique luxury train hotel that is permanently stationed high above the Sabie River where the views in either direction are infinite.
Special Notes:
•This PRE-Cruise Program begins in Johannesburg and therefore guests need to fly into Johannesburg, South Africa.
•The following program details are for reference purposes only and subject to change based on final flight details.
•Any guests travelling with Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines should read further below for airline stipulations with regards to bringing this equipment on tour.
DAY 1
Upon arrival at Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo International Airport you will be met by a local representative.
You will be accompanied on your short walk to Intercontinental O.R. Tambo Hotel.
Check in time is at 2:00pm. Should you have an early arriving flight you may wish to book an extra night to guarantee room availability upon arrival, or you may choose to store luggage at Reception and begin to enjoy the facilities of the hotel.
DAY 2
After breakfast, check out, meet your local representative in the reception area of the hotel from where you will be assisted with a short walk to the terminal to check in for your flight to Skukuza.
As guests may only bring one piece of checked luggage per person, excess luggage (1 piece per person, 20kg/44 lbs.) will be shipped via courier to Cape Town where you will be re-united with it on Day 4. Make sure to pack accordingly and bring any medications and cruise documents with you.
On arrival at Skukuza Airport, you will be met by a lodge representative and transferred by road to your lodge.
After check-in, enjoy some free time to settle in and take in the breathtaking views of the Sabie River. You may even spot wildlife from above!
Your accommodations, the Train on the Bridge is a first-of-its-kind luxury accommodation in a re-envisioned train stationed on the historically rich Selati Bridge above the Sabie River in Kruger National Park. The name has its origins in the history of Chief Warrior Shalati, who lived near this river in the region of Skukuza and ruled over the Tebula tribe.
Kruger Shalati pays homage to the guests who explored the park and Skukuza Camp nearly 100 years ago as this is where the first visits to the iconic park were allowed in the early 1920s. Back then the train would park overnight in the exact spot where Kruger Shalati is positioned.
Depending on arrival time, a delicious lunch will be served at the Bridge House Restaurant and then later in the afternoon, indulge in afternoon tea in the lounge carriage before departing on your first game drive in open 4x4 vehicles, guided by a qualified ranger.
With nearly 2 million hectares of land that stretch for 352 kilometres (218 miles) from north to south along the Mozambique border, Kruger National Park is a wildlife sanctuary like no other. Along the way you may see any of the Big Five which includes lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo, along with giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, various antelope, monkeys and a myriad of birds.
Following what promises to be an incredible game drive, dinner will be served back at Shalati in the Bridge House Restaurant.
NOTE: Activities and meals are subject to your flight time.
DAY 3
Wake up early for a refreshing coffee or tea before departing on a morning game drive in open 4x4 vehicles with a qualified ranger. Spend a few hours exploring the Kruger wilderness and spotting the Big Five as the bush comes alive at sunrise.
Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast served in the Bridge House Restaurant, followed by some leisure time—relax by the overhanging pool, enjoy a spa treatment, or simply soak in the panoramic views of the Sabie River from your carriage or suite. The team at Kruger Shalati will be able to provide a list of optional (at own expense) activities that are available during your stay.
Lunch will be served at the Bridge House Restaurant and a bit later in the afternoon, enjoy afternoon tea before departing for a sunset game drive, complete with a scenic sundowner stop in the bush
Dinner will be served after the game drive in the Bridge House Restaurant.
DAY 4
Depending on flight time, you may or may not be able to enjoy one last game drive which will be followed by breakfast, check out and transfer by road to Skukuza Airport for a flight back to Cape Town.
Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport, proceed to the Arrivals Hall where you will be met for a transfer by our local representative. The transfer time is approximately 35 minutes. At your hotel, collect any excess luggage that was transferred from Johannesburg and enjoy the evening at leisure. Dinner is on your own.

If received in a timely manner, requests will be sent on the final manifest that our ground operators and hotels receive. Many hotels will charge for distilled water. If there is a fee, this will be added to your hotel incidental account to be paid at check-out. Fees will vary from hotel to hotel.

You will be met outside of Customs and transferred by road to your lodge. Check-in will be followed by free time. Depending on arrival time, you may enjoy afternoon tea before departing on your first afternoon game drive which takes place in open 4x4 safari vehicles with a qualified ranger.
Chobe is home to the world's largest remaining population of African elephants and this ultra-exclusive lodge – the only one in the area with a full-service spa – sits on a hill high above the Chobe River affording unparalleled panoramic views over the well-tended gardens to the islands and floodplains beyond, stretching as far as Namibia.
On your game drive, be on the lookout for elephant, lion, leopard, and buffalo to name a few. Chobe is also home to two antelope that aren’t encountered anywhere else in Botswana, the puku and the Chobe bushbuck. Declared a national park in 1967, Chobe was the first established in Botswana and now covers more than 4,500 square miles of dry savannah, floodplains, and teak woodlands that are ideal animal habitats.

Back at your hotel, enjoy a Riverside dining experience which offers an authentic African barbecue-style dinner surrounded by the wilderness of the Zambezi National Park.
DAY 5
After breakfast and check out, transfer to the Victoria Falls Rainforest where you will have a guided walk.
Located on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls is the world’s largest curtain of falling water, based on the falls’ one-mile width and height of 360 feet. It’s an amazing spectacle to watch as the Zambezi River roars over the edge of a basalt gorge, forming what locals call Mosi-Oa-Tunya or “the smoke that thunders.” In November 1885, after seeing the falls for the first time, Scottish explorer and Doctor David Livingstone re-named them after Queen Victoria.
A path along the edge of the rainforest provides visitors with an unparalleled series of views of the falls but be prepared to get wet from the tremendous spray!
NOTE: The cobblestone walkways within the rainforest can be slippery if wet and some spots are at a gradient. Proper walking shoes that have a good grip should be worn, and guests should wear appropriate clothing to get wet. Due to the amount of walking and terrain, this program is not suited for guests who have walking difficulty or who utilize a wheelchair or scooter. Walking distance will be 2-4km (1.24 – 2.48 miles).
After your tour of the Falls, you will transfer to the Victoria Falls Airport for a flight to Cape Town.
Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport, a local tour guide will meet and transfer you to your hotel which is located in the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront.

PLEASE NOTE
•This is a malaria risk area. Make sure that the necessary medication has been taken. Guests should seek their physicians’ advice regarding malaria precautions and other recommended immunizations. You must begin taking malaria precautions prior to your departure date.
•The contents and order of the activities in this program are subject to change by the lodge management without prior notice, due to the prevailing weather conditions and movement of dangerous wildlife in the Chobe National Park.
•The roads in the game reserve are gravel. There are also inclines, and certain parts of the game drive can be bumpy. This program is not recommended for guests with back problems.
•Bring warm clothing, as the evenings and early mornings are chilly.
•This program is not fully guided. Local representatives will assist you with your transfers and you will have a guide at Victoria Falls, however, game drives at the lodge are run solely and at the discretion by the lodge/hotel staff.
•The water levels at Victoria Falls are season dependent. ‘Low Water’ runs between August and January and is at its lowest between November and early December. This is the time when there is very little spray and visitors are able to fully appreciate the geological formation of Victoria Falls and the full length and breadth of them.
•Flights are not accompanied
•Children under five are not permitted on game drives at Chobe Chilwero
•Scooters cannot be accommodated
What to Bring:
Comfortable, weather appropriate clothing that can be layered. Trousers and warm fleece tops for cold and rainy days. A hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, for warmer days. Comfortable walking shoes, swimsuit, camera, film and batteries, umbrella, rain jacket, and anti-malaria prophylaxis.
Currency:
The monetary unit of South Africa is the Rand. All major credit cards are accepted at most establishments, although Visa and Mastercard are the most widely accepted cards.
The monetary unit of Botswana is the Botswana Pula (BWP). US Dollars are accepted throughout Botswana at all lodges. All major credit cards are accepted at hotels, lodges, shops, and restaurants. However, some establishments do not accept payment by Diners or American Express.
Zimbabwe uses US Dollar as its currency. We recommend having enough cash on hand as withdrawing cash from an ATM or bank is not something you can rely on. Visa and MasterCard are generally accepted at most hotels and restaurants.
Electricity:
South Africa’s electrical system is 220/230 volts. Most hotels have hair dryers and plug adaptors in the bedrooms however we recommend bringing your own travel adaptor if you are bringing electric devices. Be aware that overnight charging may not be possible where generator use restricts the availability of electricity.
Outlets in Zimbabwe require a three-pronged adapter plug with 3 round prongs

Thereafter, sit down to a delicious buffet lunch including two local beverages.
After some free time to browse through the well-stocked curio shop, depart on your return transfer to Cape Town.
The remainder of the day will be at your leisure and dinner is on your own.
DAY 3
Spend today at leisure, exploring the beautiful ‘Mother City’ at your own pace. Consider a ferry trip to Robben Island (pre-bookings are essential), an open Red Top bus trip to numerous destinations, a hike up Lion’s Head, wine tasting in the Winelands, or simply visiting numerous attractive beaches i.e. Camps Bay, Blouberg Beach or similar.
This evening, enjoy an African Themed Dinner at GOLD Restaurant including optional inter-active drumming.
GOLD Restaurant in Cape Town is a vibrant, immersive dining experience that combines African cuisine with cultural storytelling, music, and dance.
DAY 4
Following breakfast at the hotel, settle any incidentals and check out before meeting your guide.
No visit to Cape Town is complete without a trip up Table Mountain, the city’s most celebrated landmark.
Table Mountain gets its name from the flat-topped central massif of the mountain, which, viewed from the city, is surrounded by Devil’s Peak on the left, Lion’s Head on the right and Signal Hill in the foreground. They form a sort of amphitheater that encloses the city center and some of the older suburbs. Other earlier suburbs are on either side of the chain of mountains, which run like a spine through the Cape Peninsula, from Table Mountain to Cape Point – the cape from which Cape Town gets its name.
Depart from your hotel and travel up Kloof Nek, the saddle between Table Mountain and Lions Head, to the lower cableway station. Ascend from the Valley Station (363 m) to the Mountain Station (1 060 m) in a Swiss engineered Rotair cable car. The journey from the base to the summit takes just under 4 minutes and one can enjoy spectacular views, as the floor of the car rotates 360 degrees during the ascent and descent.
From the summit, the natural protected area stretching from Signal Hill to Cape Point has been managed under the custodianship of the National Parks Board. This area has one of the highest concentrations of endemic plant and animal species in any area of its size, containing a staggering 2 285 plant species – more than the entire U.K.
Upon descent, reboard your vehicle and transfer to the port for embarkation via a brief city orientation tour of Cape Town passing through Adderley Street and along the Foreshore.
Note: The cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain is weather dependent. If not possible due to high winds a stop will be made at a viewing area near the cable car base for photos.

DAY 1
On arrival at Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo International Airport, you will be met outside the Customs and Immigration area by a local representative and assisted on the short walk (approximately 300 yards/900 feet) from the airport terminal to your airport-based hotel.

Spend the remainder of the afternoon at leisure. Any meals are on your own today.
DAY 2
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before checking out meeting our local representative who will walk back to the airport terminal with you. Excess luggage storage (1 piece per person) will be available prior to checking in for your flight to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Note: the flight is not accompanied. Guests will need to purchase a visa for Zimbabwe either in advance or upon arrival.
As guests may only bring one piece of checked luggage per person, excess luggage (1 piece per person – max 20 kg/44lbs) will be stored at the Johannesburg Airport from days 2-4 and it will be shipped via courier to Cape Town where you will be re-united with it on Day 4 at your hotel. Make sure to pack accordingly and bring any medications and cruise documents with you.
Upon arriving in the Victoria Falls airport, another local representative will meet and assist you with your transfer to the Palm River Hotel where a light lunch (time permitting) will be enjoyed followed by check-in and some free time to explore the hotel and its grounds.
Discover an oasis of elegance and tranquillity at the Palm River Hotel, where sophisticated luxury blends seamlessly with the warmth and comfort of home. Set along the scenic banks of the legendary Zambezi River and enveloped by towering indigenous trees, this exceptional hotel offers panoramic, uninterrupted views while ensuring your privacy and serenity are always preserved.
Ideally located just 4 kilometres from the majestic Victoria Falls, Palm River Hotel puts you at the threshold of one of the world’s most awe-inspiring natural wonders. On clear, peaceful days, you can experience the distant roar and misty spray of the falls right from your room—a truly unforgettable backdrop to your stay. With its perfect balance of central convenience and secluded tranquillity, the Palm River Hotel welcomes you to indulge in the ultimate escape.
Later in the afternoon, transfer to the Zambezi River and embark on a sunset cruise (shared departure). Depending on the size of the group the boat may either be a covered single level sightseeing boat or a larger boat with multiple levels. Enjoy a beverage from this vantage point whilst watching the sunset and possibly sighting hippos, crocodiles, various birdlife and maybe even an elephant or two along the banks of the river.
Following the cruise, and weather permitting, a Riverside Dining Experience offers authentic African-style barbeque dining within an unparalleled setting on the edge of the Zambezi River. The diverse menu includes traditional Zimbabwean specialities, fresh salads and flavour-filled side options. The experience also includes traditional entertainment. Alternatively, during inclement weather, guests will dine at the hotel.
DAY 3

This evening, enjoy dinner at your hotel before retiring for the evening.
DAY 4
After breakfast and check-out, you will be met and transferred to the Victoria Falls Rainforest where you will have a guided walk.
After your tour of the Falls, transfer to the Victoria Falls airport for your flight to Cape Town via Johannesburg. On arrival in Cape Town, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for the evening. Note: flights are not accompanied.
Your hotel is located nearby to the Victoria And Alfred Waterfront where you will find a wide array of shopping and dining options within steps of the hotel.
Guests will be reunited with any excess luggage that was stored in Johannesburg and shipped to Cape Town.
DAY 5
Following a leisurely breakfast, complete check-out formalities and take a short drive to Lower Table Mountain Road where you will ascend the mountain by cable card and enjoy a bird’s eye view of the ‘Mother City’ from the top of Table Mountain –a bucket list site for many!
