OVERLAND - NAMIBIA'S BEST CODE: CPTLK8
Discover the natural wonders and grandeur of the oldest desert in the world, the Namib Desert, with some of the highest dunes in the world. Then, look for iconic African animals on early-morning and evening game drives in Etosha National Park while spending time in between adventures at Onguma The Fort.
Special Note: Scooters and portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) are not permitted on this program. Portions of this program are not recommended for guests with any walking difficulties. Roads in the Namib desert offer what is called the “African massage” – they are often rough gravel so they are bumpy and can be quite dusty.
Chartered light aircraft will be used. There is a limit of four guests per aircraft and passenger weights will be required at the time of booking for weight distribution on the aircraft. Please see further below for luggage restrictions. Soft sided bags are required. (plane type subject to change). Note that this program requires a minimum of 4 guests for operation.
Day 1 – May 9, 2026
Disembark the ship in Cape Town and depart on a transfer to Cape Town International Airport. Board a flight to Windhoek, Namibia, and arrive stepping into a land where time slows, and nature takes the lead.
Note: Guests are required to purchase a visa for Namibia. See below for further details.
You will be met by your pilot for a breathtaking light aircraft charter flight to the dramatic desert landscapes of Desert Hills Lodge. As you soar over ochre dunes and ancient rock formations, the sheer scale and beauty of Namibia unfolds beneath you.
Touch down and feel the pace of life change. Upon arrival you will be transferred to the beautifully situated Desert Hills Lodge, which is perched on a natural rocky outcrop and offers spectacular views of the desert and the dramatic sunset over the Namib.
Stay in one of 18 individual stone ensconced thatch chalets, each outfitted with all the modern conveniences you would need. Each has its own deck with uninterrupted views across the desert.
This evening, you’ll be whisked away to a secluded mountaintop for a private group sundowner. With panoramic views that stretch to infinity, enjoy chilled drinks and curated snacks as the Namib Desert glows with the last golden light of day and the sun melts into the horizon in a blaze of crimson and copper.
Return to the lodge and refresh before indulging in a gourmet dinner under the stars, where the silence of the desert speaks louder than words. This isn’t just the first day of your trip—it’s the start of something extraordinary.
Day 2 - May 10, 2026
Wake up surrounded by the stillness of the desert, where soft morning light spills over ancient rock formations and the scent of fresh coffee fills the air.
You’ll check out and embark on one of Namibia’s most iconic experiences—an expertly guided Sossusvlei and Sesriem Canyon excursion.
This morning’s journey takes you deep into the heart of the Namib-Naukluft National Park, home to some of the tallest dunes on Earth. Stand at the base of Dune 45, marvel at the eerie, sun-bleached trees of Deadvlei, and feel the sheer scale of this surreal, rust-red desert unfold around you. It’s a photographer’s dream—and a soul-stirring moment you’ll carry forever. Enjoy your breakfast in picnic style amidst the roaring sand dunes.
Your guide will reveal the secrets of this ancient landscape, from desert-adapted wildlife to the geological wonders of Sesriem Canyon, carved over millions of years by time and wind.
Return to Desert Hills Lodge in time to enjoy lunch before transferring back to the airstrip for your next adventure.
Take off on a scenic light aircraft charter flight across Namibia’s dramatic landscapes toward the lush, wildlife-rich north and your next destination: Onguma Private Nature Reserve.
Arriving in Onguma, you’ll be welcomed and checked into your luxurious bush suite at Onguma The Fort —where style, comfort, and wilderness seamlessly combine. The afternoon is yours to explore, relax by the pool, or simply soak in the atmosphere of this exclusive safari sanctuary.
As golden hour approaches, take time to freshen up and prepare for a memorable evening. Gather for dinner, where fine cuisine is paired with flickering lantern light and the distant calls of Africa’s nocturnal wildlife.
Day 3 – May 11, 2026
This is the day safari dreams are made of. After a hearty breakfast, you’ll set off on a guided game drive through Etosha National Park, one of Africa’s premier wildlife destinations. Traveling in an open-sided vehicle, your experienced guide takes you deep into the park’s eastern plains—prime territory for elephants, lions, rhinos, and herds of antelope.
Pause mid-morning for a refreshing picnic break at a shaded rest site, where you can sip and snack while the bush continues its quiet rhythm around you.
Return to the lodge in time for a leisurely lunch served on the open-air terrace, where the endless wilderness stretches out before you and wildlife may wander by as you dine. The afternoon is then yours to indulge—cool off in the shimmering pool, sip a craft cocktail at the bar with a view, or retreat to your elegant suite for a well-deserved siesta, cradled by the sounds of the Namibian bush.
As the light begins to soften, the day’s adventure continues with a Sundowner Drive in Onguma Private Nature Reserve. Here, in the golden glow of late afternoon, you’ll head out with one of Onguma’s expert rangers—a passionate storyteller and wildlife tracker whose deep knowledge will elevate every sighting.
Pause at a scenic viewpoint with sundowners and gourmet snacks, and witness the sky transform into a canvas of flaming orange and rose-pink hues. Watch as Fisher’s Pan reflects the last light of day, and the sounds of the wild deepen into dusk.
As the last light fades from the savannah, return to the lodge where comfort and elegance await. After a moment to refresh, settle in for a refined dining experience beneath Namibia’s vast, starlit sky. Surrounded by the hush of the wilderness and the soft crackle of a fire, each course is a tribute to local flavor and fine craftsmanship—a truly unforgettable conclusion to your day on safari.
Day 4 – May 12, 2026
As morning light floods your suite, enjoy breakfast before check-out. Transfer back to the airstrip for your final flight— another journey across Namibia’s breathtaking landscapes.
As your light aircraft charter flight lifts off from Onguma taking you westward, watch the terrain shift from golden grasslands to towering dunes, until finally, the blue waters of Walvis Bay come into view.
Arrive at Walvis Bay Airport where a comfortable road transfer will take you directly to Walvis Bay Harbour where you will re-board the ship.
As you sail away, you leave behind more than landscapes—you will carry with you the spirit of a land that spoke to your soul. From the silence of the desert to the roar of lions and the peace of sunset on the savannah, this is Namibia—raw, elegant and unforgettable!
