Land Programs & Hotels

  • Experience the magic of Morocco on this this immersive overnight journey from Casablanca to Agadir, where Marrakech’s palaces, souks, and UNESCO-listed square meet the serene beauty of the Agafay Desert and the coastal charm of Agadir.

    Special Notes:

•This program involves walking distances at times over even and uneven grounds. It is not recommended for guests who require use of wheelchair, walker or cane. The visit of the old city in Marrakech is done only on foot and requires walking a long-distance.

•Please advise the RSSC Reservations team when you book this program should you have any special dietary restrictions or requirements. Requests will be sent to our local ground operators for review.

    DAY 1

Disembark in Casablanca, meet your guide and settle in for the three-hour journey to Marrakech.

Upon arrival, begin with a visit to the Koutoubia Mosque, admired for its majestic 12th-century minaret — the tallest structure in the city and one of the finest examples of Almohad architecture. Its design later inspired the Giralda in Seville and the Hassan Tower in Rabat.

Continue to the Bahia Palace, a magnificent 19th-century residence built for Grand Vizier Si Moussa and later expanded by his son Ba Ahmed. The palace’s name, meaning “Brilliance,” reflects its exquisite craftsmanship, with intricate stucco work, carved cedar ceilings, marble courtyards, and serene Andalusian gardens. Once intended to be the most beautiful palace of its time, it remains a remarkable testament to Moroccan artistry and refinement.

Next, visit the elegant Dar El Bacha Museum, a former palace of the powerful Pasha of Marrakech. Today, it showcases the refined art of Moroccan craftsmanship, with beautifully restored salons, zellige tilework, carved wood, and decorative stucco, offering insight into the city’s political and cultural history in the early 20th century.

In the afternoon, immerse yourself in the bustling Medina and traditional souks, where artisans continue centuries-old traditions in metalwork, leather, textiles, and spices. This vibrant maze of colors, sounds, and scents offers an authentic glimpse into daily Moroccan life.

Enjoy a traditional Moroccan lunch at the renowned Dar Essalam Restaurant, an iconic setting celebrated for its refined cuisine and cinematic heritage. The restaurant famously appeared in Alfred Hitchcock’s classic film “The Man Who Knew Too Much,” adding a touch of timeless glamour to this cultural experience.

Continue to the legendary Jemaa El Fna Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As evening falls, the square transforms into an open-air theatre filled with storytellers, musicians, snake charmers, and food stalls serving local specialties. Thereafter proceed to your hotel for check-in and some time to refresh before rejoining the group for a horse-drawn carriage ride through the illuminated streets. Enjoy dinner and soak in the city’s enchanting nightlife, before returning to your hotel.

    DAY 2

Following breakfast at the hotel, settle any incidentals and check out before meeting your guide. The day begins with a visit to the Agafay Desert, a tranquil rocky landscape just outside Marrakech that perfectly captures the spirit of Morocco’s wilderness. Upon arrival, meet your camel caravan and set off on an unforgettable camel ride across the vast, open terrain surrounded by soft hills and distant views of the Atlas Mountains. The calm of the desert and the gentle pace of the camels create a peaceful and authentic Moroccan experience.

After the ride, relax in a desert camp and enjoy a refreshing mint tea with local delicacies before continuing your journey toward Agadir. The drive is approximately three hours.

Upon arrival, take a scenic drive through the city’s modern boulevards and along its seafront promenade, where contemporary life blends with Morocco’s coastal charm.

Continue to the beautiful Medina Coco Polizzi, a masterful reconstruction of a traditional southern Moroccan town. Stroll through its cobbled lanes, admire the hand-built earthen architecture, and visit artisan workshops showcasing local crafts. Then, savor a delicious Moroccan lunch in this serene and cultural setting.

Conclude your day with a comfortable drive to the pier where you will reboard the ship, carrying with you unforgettable memories of Morocco — from the stillness of the desert to the coastal beauty of Agadir.

    General Tips:

•In the Medina of Marrakech, expect narrow streets, lively souks, and close interaction with local vendors and artisans.

•It is common for vendors or guides to approach visitors; a polite “no, Shukran (thank you in Arabic)” is always sufficient if you are not interested.

•Haggling over prices, particularly in local markets, is a customary and friendly practice, and part of daily life in Morocco.

•Modest dress is recommended, especially when visiting cultural or religious sites. While visiting Hassan II Mosque please make sure the knees and shoulders are covered.

•Photography is generally welcomed; however, it is courteous to ask permission before taking photos of people.

•Tipping is customary and appreciated when good service is provided.

    Local Currency:

    Moroccan Dirham – MAD

Credit cards like, Visa and MasterCard, and American Express are widely accepted at larger establishments. American Express is not recommended as most places do not accept it. If you plan to pay in cash, you may find it beneficial to exchange money at a bank or at an ATM, where rates are generally more reasonable.

    Electricity:

Electricity in Morocco is 220–240V / 50 Hz. Power outlets use Type C and Type E plugs. We recommend bringing a universal travel adaptor for electric devices.

    Distilled Water:

Some hotels do not provide distilled water. While we can certainly request this for you, we cannot guarantee that it will be available. If received in a timely manner, at least 95 days before sailing, requests will be sent on the final manifest that our ground operators and hotels receive. We highly recommend packing your own supply, especially on programs that travel to more remote locations in order to avoid not having it. Many hotels will charge for distilled water. If there is a fee, this will be added to your hotel incidental account to be paid at check-out. Fees will vary from hotel to hotel.

    Documents and Visa Requirements:

Citizens of the United States and Canada do not require a visa for tourist visits to Morocco

A passport that is valid at least 6 months after travel is required.

Please check with your local embassy for any visa requirements for your nationality.

The above information is subject to change and serves as a guide only. We would like to take this opportunity to remind all of our guests that it is the ultimate and sole responsibility of the guest to ensure they meet the entry requirements for each destination.

There may also be a need to climb steps or stairs on occasion. Guests who utilize a wheelchair and those with mobility concerns are advised to check with the cruise line in advance to see if any portion of the tour program may not be considered suitable for their individual situation. Weather appropriate clothing; hats; sunglasses; and flat, comfortable walking shoes are generally recommended.
