Land Programs & Hotels

  • Explore Singapore timeless charm, from the serenity of the UNESCO World Heritage Botanic Gardens to the historic old Supreme Court and City Hall. Glide along the Singapore River and get to know three vibrant cultures of Singapore's major ethnic groups. Visit iconic places of worship that reflect the rich tapestry of the nation and savor delightful meals showcasing some of the best Singaporean gastronomy.

    Note:

•If you have any food intolerances or special dietary needs, please contact the Regent Reservations Team at least 95 days prior to your departure. It is important that your land program extension reflects these details so our local vendors can ensure smooth and enjoyable dining experiences.

    DAY 1

Upon arrival at Singapore’s Changi International Airport, you will be met by our local representatives in the arrivals area and transferred by private vehicle to your hotel.

Note: Couples or pairs will be transferred by private van or SUV (max 4 large bags total plus 1 carry-on per person); solo guests will use a sedan (2 large suitcases plus a carry-on). Extra luggage may require a larger vehicle at additional cost—notify your RSSC booking agent at least 14 days before sailing with this information. Transfers include driver only.

Check-in time is 3:00pm. Guests arriving early may leave luggage with Reception until rooms are available or to ensure immediate room availability, you may wish to book an extra night. All meals are on your own today.

    DAY 2

After breakfast, meet your guide in the lobby of your hotel and set out for an introductory tour of the “Lion City”.

Begin with a visit to the majestic Singapore Botanic Gardens, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A sure highlight will be meandering through the National Orchid Garden which is located in an impressive glasshouse showcasing over 1,000 orchid species and hybrids.

Next, enjoy a scenic drive along Orchard Road, passing by the Istana (Presidential Palace).

Indulge in a delightful three-course lunch featuring authentic Malay delicacies, followed by a refreshing bowl of cendol, a quintessential Singaporean dessert. This icy delight features delicate green strands of pandan-flavored jelly, coconut milk, shaved ice, and caramelized palm sugar – the perfect way to cool down and recharge before

After lunch, delve into Singapore's rich artistic heritage at the National Gallery Singapore, housed within two iconic buildings – the former Supreme Court and City Hall. Here you will see a vast collection of Southeast Asian art.

Continue your journey southwards and glide effortlessly into Sentosa Island by cable car, soaking in sweeping views of the harbor, rainforest, and glittering coastline below.

For a memorable finale, pause at Mount Faber Peak to enjoy a refreshing cocktail while taking in panoramic views of the city skyline and the Singapore Strait. Mount Faber is one of Singapore’s oldest hilltop parks and has been a strategic lookout point since colonial times.

After check-in at your hotel, the remainder of the evening is at your leisure and dinner is on own.

    DAY 3

After breakfast, meet your guide in the lobby of your hotel. Today will bring you to the heart of three vibrant communities in Singapore where you will experience their rich history and traditions firsthand.

Start at Telok Ayer, a historic district with a rich blend of Chinese and Peranakan influences. Visit Thian Hock Keng Temple, Singapore's oldest Buddhist temple and admire its intricate architecture and historical significance for the local community.

Next Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Little India. Wander through the bustling streets, visit Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple, one of the most prominent Hindu temples in Singapore and a focal point for the Indian community.

This is followed by a relaxing scenic bumboat ride along the historic Singapore River, from Boat Quay to Marina Bay. Remnant of Singapore’s fishing village past, bumboats were originally used for transporting goods and people along the river during the 19th and 20th centuries. Along the way glimpse at the historic shophouses lining the riverbanks, in contrast with the skyscrapers of present-day Singapore.

Indulge in a delicious lunch featuring Singaporean flavors at Town Restaurant, located inside the iconic Fullerton Hotel and alongside the Singapore River.

Finally, explore the colorful and aromatic neighborhood of Kampong Glam. Admire the Sultan Mosque, a significant landmark that offers a glimpse into the rich history of the Muslim community in Singapore and their significant contributions to the nation's tapestry.

After this culturally enriching tour, return to your hotel where the remainder of the day is at your leisure and dinner is on your own.

Note: Shoulders and knees should be covered when visiting religious sites.

    Expected Weather:

Singapore is known for its hot and humid weather, with little variation throughout the year. The average daytime temperature is 31ºC (88ºF), dropping to around 24ºC (75ºF) in the evenings. The monsoon season can bear down pretty heavily on our tropical weather from November onwards, so be prepared for rain on a daily basis during this period.

    What to Bring:

When packing, keep in mind that you will be in the tropics. Light, cool, and casual clothing is recommended all year round. For more formal occasions, men should wear collared or batik shirts whereas women should wear dresses with covered shoes. When visiting places of local worship, shoulders and knees should be covered.

    Local Currency:

The currency used in Singapore is the Singapore dollar (S$). Money changing services can be found not only at the Singapore Changi Airport but also at most shopping centers and hotels around the island. You can also access the automated teller machines (ATMs) located everywhere (even in the most obscure bits) in Singapore, that accept most of the main credit cards such as Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

    Electricity

Singapore's electricity voltage is 220-240V with ac, 50 cycles per second. Generally, the electricity outlets are three-pronged - two parallel flat pins with a ground outlet. You may purchase adaptors in any of the hardware stores or rent one from the hotel. We recommend travelling with your own international adaptor should you have electric devices.

    Documents and Visa Requirements:

Visitors must have a valid passport valid for minimum 6 months beyond the date of entry into Singapore.

Guests are required to submit an electronic Singapore Arrival Card within three days prior to arrival into Singapore. They are not permitted any earlier. Please follow instructions on this website https://eservices.ica.gov.sg/sgarrivalcard/ or through the official “MyICA” mobile application. Submissions are free of charge.

The above information is subject to change and serves as a guide only. We would like to take this opportunity to remind all of our guests that it is the ultimate and sole responsibility of the guest to ensure they meet the entry requirements for each destination.

If traveling internationally, the countries you are flying to and/ or connecting through may have different document requirements and as such we encourage you to visit the government and airport websites of every country you will be traveling to throughout the journey to familiarize yourself with their requirements for your nationality.

    Accommodation:

    Ritz Carlton Millenia Hotel

7 Raffles Ave., Marina Bay, Singapore 039799

    Phone: +65 6337 8888

*We will only substitute the hotel in unforeseen situations. If the hotel is substituted, it will be similar and with equal ratings and standards and guests will be notified in advance. If guests are not notified of any changes before departure, then the hotel listed in this program will be used.

    Please Note:

3 nights at the Ritz Carlton Millenia or similar hotel including breakfast – Deluxe Marina View Room

    1 lunch at local restaurant

1 full day tour with English speaking guide

1 half day tour with English speaking guide

Private airport transfer on day 1

Group transfer to the port on Day 4

Please Note: Guests booking their own flights (independent of the cruise line) are responsible for ensuring that the cruise line has the updated arrival information, so your transfer can be arranged. If you book additional nights independently of the cruise line, an arrival transfer is not provided. If we do not receive flight details a minimum of 14 days in advance, transfers will not be provided.

    Program Excludes for guests:

    Gratuities to drivers and guides

Any meals or beverages not listed above

Hotel incidentals including room service, laundry and mini bar

    Any visas if required

Please note: Land programs that encompass multiple days ashore customarily include extensive and prolonged activity, while those of shorter durations typically have more moderate activity levels. However, each program varies, and participants should be prepared to negotiate a mixture of surfaces which may include inclines, cobblestones, sand, and gravel or natural paths. There may also be a need to climb steps or stairs on occasion. Guests who utilize a wheelchair and those with mobility concerns are advised to check with the cruise line in advance to see if any portion of the tour program may not be considered suitable for their individual situation. Weather appropriate clothing; hats; sunglasses; and flat, comfortable walking shoes are generally recommended.

Please note: All land programs are capacity controlled and subject to availability. Programs falling under the minimum number of required participants are subject to cancellation. Pricing listed is also subject to change to meet unexpected cost increases for transportation, land arrangements or currency fluctuations. Once purchased, pricing is guaranteed and not subject to change. Land Programs must be purchased no later than 90 days prior to your sail date. Cancellations made within 90 days or less prior to the sail date are subject to 100% cancellation penalty. There are no refunds for unused portions of any program.

Price: $2,799 per guest based on double occupancy.

Hotel and Land Program pricing is not combinable with FREE 1-Night Pre-Cruise Luxury Hotel Package. If applicable, please contact Regent Seven Seas Cruises or your travel agent for multi-night pre-cruise hotel pricing information. Land program promotions are subject to terms.

  • Located just outside Siem Reap, Cambodia, the jungles of Angkor offer a distinguished opportunity to explore the rich history and remarkable architecture of the Khmer Empire. Once concealed beneath dense vegetation, the temples of Angkor now stand as one of the world's largest religious monuments. Among them, Angkor Wat is particularly notable for its grand scale and intricate carvings. Visitors also pass through the formidable gates of Angkor Thom, the final capital of the Khmer Empire, to examine the renowned Bayon Temple.

    Please note:

-There is extensive walking over uneven ground at the temple sites - at times up to 2 km, with steps at Bayon and Angkor Wat. This tour is not suitable for guests with walking difficulty or if confined to a wheelchair. It can also be very hot and humid there.

-Cambodia visa fee is included in the tour and will be applied upon arrival at Siem Reap Airport

-Flight schedules are subject to change thus the tour sequence may vary

-Any guests travelling with Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines should read further below about airline stipulations with regards to bringing this equipment on tour.

All travelers (Tourists, Expats and Cambodians) are now required to submit the Cambodia e-Arrival Card within 7 days before their arrival via a mobile app or at https://arrival.gov.kh/

    DAY 1

After flying into the Singapore International Airport, you will be met outside of Customs and transferred to your hotel. Check-in time is at 3:00pm, and while every effort will be made to have rooms available earlier, this cannot be guaranteed. Should you have an early arrival time you may wish to book an extra night so that a room is ready upon your arrival.

You will spend the remainder of the day settling in and enjoying the amenities at your hotel or the sites of the city. Meals are on your own today.

Since guests are permitted 1 checked bag and 1 carry on for the flights to and from Siem Reap, we suggest separating any excess luggage for storage. It will be collected in the morning and stored at the hotel until your return on Day 4. Please remember to bring any valuables, medication and documents with you.

    DAY 2

Following check out and excess luggage storage, you will transfer to the Singapore International Airport. Upon arrival, proceed through check-in for your flight to Siem Reap. You will be accompanied on the flight by a representative from our local ground agency.

On arrival in Siem Reap you will be met and assisted with obtaining your Cambodian Entry Visa. You will then proceed to the Angkor Site to collect your temple passes which are required for touring. Once this has been issued, proceed to a local restaurant for lunch.

NOTE: Your passport will be kept by our program operations team in order to process the visa on arrival and for exit procedures on departure day. Your passport will be safely returned to you on Day 4.

This afternoon, explore the archaeological treasures of Angkor Wat, the highlight of your program and seat of the once mighty Angkor Empire. It was from here that kings ruled over a vast territory that extended from the tip of what is now southern Vietnam, northward to Yunnan in China, and westward to the Bay of Bengal.

Your expert guide will show you the best spots for taking photos of this massive temple complex as you walk amid the moss-peppered cobbled pathways, gazing up at the intricately carved tower tops, or climb the steep, narrow temple steps that lead to wide courtyards.

Contemplate the temple's spiritual power while you stroll in the cool shade of its hallways, stopping to take in the perfume of burning incense. Lose yourself in contemplation as you catch the rays of sun dancing off the bas relief carvings at sunset, the chatter of monkeys reverberating off the temple walls.

You will have approximately 2 hours to explore its archaeological treasures with your guide before returning to your hotel to freshen up. Enjoy a group dinner either at the hotel or at a local restaurant (TBA).

    DAY 3

Following breakfast, you will venture to the city of Angkor Thom including the renowned Bayon Temple built in the 12th Century, the Terrace of the Leper King and the Elephant Terrace, a sandstone wall covered with carved hunting scenes and three-headed elephants.

Continue to visit the un-restored temple of Ta Prohm which is famous for its forest atmosphere and enormous fig trees. This temple looks just as it did when the first European explorer arrived. It is also the location of many of the scenes filmed for Angelina Jolie’s huge blockbuster movie, Tomb Raider.

After lunch at a local restaurant, visit Satcha, a Cambodian handicrafts center that fosters local artisans who mix traditional knowledge with contemporary design to showcase their talents and highlight Cambodian culture. Their aim is to encourage the young generation to perpetuate this ancestral know-how while creating unique and desirable products, allowing them to further develop their core skills to become autonomous and financially independent.

Continue to look around the Old Market (Phsar Chas) - the most popular with tourists and visitors, offering the greatest selection of souvenirs, textiles, handicrafts, statues, and curios of any of the traditional markets.

Back at the hotel, enjoy dinner and an Apsara cultural show

Overnight at the Borei Angkor Resort or similar hotel

    DAY 4

This morning, you will discover the center of Apopo, a registered Belgian non-governmental organization and US non-profit which is known for training southern giant pouched rats to detect landmines and tuberculosis using their advanced sense of smell, making detection safer and more efficient.

At Apopo’s Siem Reap center, you will be able to tour a museum about global mine clearance challenges and see demonstrations of the trained rats at work. The animals are not harmed in any way here.

After an enlightening morning, return to your hotel for some free time and lunch on own. Later in the afternoon, check out, settling any incidental charges before you depart and then transfer to the airport for a flight back to Singapore.

Upon arrival at Singapore’s Changi Airport, a local English-speaking representative will be waiting in arrivals to greet you. Once all luggage is collected and the group has gone through Customs and Immigration, you will transfer to your hotel for the evening. The evening is at leisure and dinner is on your own.

Guests will be reunited with any stored luggage.

    DAY 5

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel before checking out. Don’t forget to settle any incidentals before departing. At the designated time, transfer to the Port of Singapore where you will embark the ship .

    Expected Weather:

Hot and Dry. The average midday temperatures can hover to upper 30s C (85-90 F), especially in inland areas like Siem Reap. The sun can be quite intense, and the air becomes hazier with the rising humidity. Though sometimes quite hot, the lack of rain still leaves this good time of year to visit the temples.

    What to Bring:

On this tour the key words are comfortable and casual. Please avoid uncovered shoulders, shorts or revealing clothing. Full length trousers or pants and/or skirts covering the knees are required to be worn when visiting Angkor Wat.

Although dinners are not formal, you may want to bring something a bit dressier for that time of day.

Bring a hat or a head covering for sun protection and don’t forget your sunscreen, sunglasses and mosquito repellant (suggested for sunrise and sunset hours). It is also a good idea to bring along a small packet of tissues or wet wipes as well as to bring flat, comfortable, closed toe walking shoes.

Visitors to any religious sites will be required to take off footwear and hats.

    Currency:

The local currency is the Cambodian Riel but U.S. Dollars are commonly accepted in Cambodia. You should take smaller denominations of U.S. Dollars with you, as they will keep you from ending up with a lot of local change that you will not be able to re-exchange back home.

    Electricity:

Rooms are equipped with 220-volt, two-pin US style electrical outlets. We recommend travelling with your own universal adapter should you have electronic devices.

    Water:

Avoid tap water and drinks with ice in them. Drink mineral water and drinks in sealed containers. Water at the hotels in both Singapore and Siem Reap is potable.

    Luggage:

Guests will be permitted to bring a maximum of one checked suitcase (20 kg or 44lbs) and one small carry on free of charge. Any additional or overweight pieces will be in excess, and fees will be paid to the airline at your expense when checking in for the flights.

For this reason, luggage storage will be available at the hotel in Singapore and you will be re-united with it on Day 4 upon your return to Singapore.

Please ensure that all excess bags to be stored are tagged properly and visibly with your full name and suite number on the ship. Note that Regent Seven Seas Cruises, the hotel, nor our local ground operator are liable for any lost or missing items. We do not recommend leaving valuables behind or in checked luggage. You should keep any valuables, medications and documents with you in your carry-on handbag.

Carriage of Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines on internal flights per airline regulations (subject to change as each airline has their own regulations)

1.Portable Oxygen Concentrator (POC) - Guests must obtain a Doctor’s Certificate mentioning their medical condition and the need to carry a POC. Further paperwork may be required by the airline. Please advise RSSC of the specifics at least 14 days before sailing.

2.CPAP Machine NOT being used in flight – please advise RSSC upon booking this program if you will bring a CPAP on the internal flights used in this land program. Please supply the make, model and battery type.

3.CPAP Machine to be used during flight – same as above + a doctor’s note is required mentioning the need to use the machine during flight.

*Guests are required to bring with them any details from the manufacturer regarding the CPAP specifications. While most modern CPAP machines are FAA-approved for in-flight use, having a copy of your manufacturer’s FAA-approval status will help to quickly clear any confusion that may arise.

    * Failure to provide the above details in a timely manner may result in a denial of this equipment at the airport for which Regent Seven Seas Cruises nor our local ground operator will be responsible for.

*Some hotels do not provide distilled water. While we can certainly request this for you, we cannot guarantee that it will be available. If received in a timely manner, requests will be sent on the final manifest that our ground operators and hotels receive. We highly recommend packing your own supply especially on programs that travel to more remote locations in order to avoid not having it. Please keep in mind the rule for liquids in carry-on bags. Many hotels will charge for distilled water. If there is a fee, this will be added to your hotel incidental account to be paid at check-out. Fees will vary from hotel to hotel.

    Documentation:

Guests must carry a valid passport with at least 6 months validity after the program dates and have spare pages for the Cambodian Visa. Visas will be issued on arrival in Siem Reap and are included in the cost of the program.

All travelers (Tourists, Expats and Cambodians) are also now required to submit a Cambodia e-Arrival Card within 7 days before their arrival via a mobile app or at https://arrival.gov.kh/

VERY IMPORTANT – The name on your cruise booking, passport and any visas if required, must all be exactly the same for flight ticket purchase for this program otherwise guests may be denied travel by flight. Please ensure that all documents are identical in spelling to the names provided for your cruise reservation including first, middle and last name. Manifests generated by the cruise line must match your travel documents.

Failure to have the required documents ahead of time or incorrect names on flight tickets will result in either denial of travel or ticket re-purchase and guests will be responsible for any fees incurred.

  • Your unforgettable Arabian escape begins here! Discover the vibrant spirit of Qatar’s capital on an immersive journey that blends tradition, luxury, and adventure. From seamless airport transfers, world-class accommodations and exhilarating excursions by land and sea, this program invites you to experience Doha’s dazzling skyline, rich culture, and warm hospitality. Uncover bustling souqs, marvel at modern wonders, and unwind by the Arabian Gulf—all while savoring the flavors and heritage of this remarkable destination.

    DAY 1

Disembark in the port of Doha and meet your guide.

Begin your tour at the National Museum of Qatar for a delightful encounter with Qatar’s past, present and future. The design of the museum resembles the naturally occurring crystal formations known as the desert rose.

Built around Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al-Thani’s original palace and the seat of government for 25 years, the National Museum of Qatar gives voice to Qatar’s heritage and celebrates its future. Exhibitions combine historic objects and contemporary influences, opening up a dialogue around the impact of rapid change. You will have time to visit the museum’s shop before having lunch at Jiwan Restaurant which is located within the museum.

After lunch, proceed to your city-based hotel for check-in (3:00pm) after which the remainder of the day will be at your leisure and dinner on your own.

Fairmont Doha, located in the very unique Katara Towers on the Marina District seafront, offers impressive views of the Arabian Gulf, Doha waterfront, and Lusail. The hotel is close to Lusail Iconic Stadium, Marina Promenade, and Place Vendôme Mall.

    DAY 2

After breakfast at the hotel, you will travel into the surrounding desert in an air-conditioned 4x4 vehicle. To improve traction in the deep sand, the tires of the vehicle will be deflated. Then, off you will go, racing through the desert dunes in an exhilarating activity known as dune bashing. The driver is highly experienced at negotiating the shifting sands at ever-changing speeds.

Note: The dune bashing activity will be bumpy and dusty. It is not recommended for guests who are or may be pregnant or those who have a bad back.

A traditional lunch follows at the seafront desert camp, which is a collection of huts furnished with beach beds and Arabic carpets. Other facilities include gazebos, restrooms and a sunken firepit.

In time, you will drive back to the hotel to freshen up before boarding a traditional wooden dhow for a dinner cruise around Doha Bay. The city will be beautifully illuminated as you pass landmarks such as The Pearl, a manmade island with high-end residential towers, marinas and shops. The dhow will maintain a fairly slow speed that is ideal for sightseeing and snapping photos of the city.

After disembarking, you will return to the hotel for the evening.

    DAY 3

Following a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, you will tour Doha, the capital of Qatar and a city that embraces modernity yet still preserves the nuances of the Arab tradition. The highlights include:

•A tram tour of historical downtown Doha and "the world's smartest and most sustainable fully built city district “.

•Browsing the Souq Waqif, a traditional bazaar with a myriad of shops full of merchandise such as ceramics, fabrics, spices, Arab sweets, perfumes, candied fruit and traditional clothing

•Stopping for Arabic sweets and tea at Souq Waqif and free time for lunch on your own

•Driving past the gleaming towers of West Bay on the way to the cultural hub Katara for a walking tour of the mosques, amphitheater and street art

•Visiting The Pearl Qatar, an attraction on a manmade island with resort hotels, exquisite shopping and fine dining

The city tour also includes a visit to the state-of-the-art Education City complex, a collection of university satellite campuses, a mosque and the Qatar National Library.

The Education City Mosque is located in the Minaretein building as a part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s College of Islamic Studies. Designed by Iraqi architect and calligrapher Taha al-Hiti, the mosque’s minarets feature vertical calligraphy that sweeps upward, taking the viewer’s eye heavenward in a contemplation of faith and meaning. The mosque is supported by five pillars, each representing one of Islam’s pillars: Shahada (profession of faith), Salah (prayer), Zakat (giving alms), Sawm (fasting) and Hajj (pilgrimage).

Individuals from all backgrounds are welcome to visit the mosque, which can accommodate as many as 2,800 worshippers in the main prayer hall and the exterior courtyard. There are four streams outdoors that irrigate a garden in the center of the building. The streams represent the four rivers of paradise promised in the Qur’an: water, honey, milk and wine. The complex also houses the Qur’anic Botanic Garden, which contains plants been mentioned in the Holy Qur'an, along with Qatar’s native flora. Designed to reflect Islamic art and architecture, the garden focuses on harmony, maintaining and preserving plant diversity from around the world

Following the tour of the Education City complex, you will return to the hotel. The remainder of the day will be at your leisure with dinner on your own.

    Day 4

After breakfast and check out, transfer by private vehicle to Doha International Airport (DOH) for your flight home. Should you have a late flight, you may store luggage at Reception until your transfer time. Check-out time at the hotel is 12:00pm. Late check-out can only be booked directly with the hotel and depends on availability.

Note: A private van or SUV will be used to transfer couples or parties of two between the airport and the hotel. Vans hold a maximum of four pieces of large luggage (total) plus one carry-on sized bag per person. A sedan will be used for solo guests, which can hold 2 large suitcases and a carry-on. If you will have more luggage, a larger vehicle may be required for additional cost. Please advise your booking agent at least 14 days before sailing if a larger vehicle is required. Transfers are with driver only.

Land Program Details Step by Step:

•Please note: The order of sites visited may vary to avoid congestion. All program timings are approximate, given here for general reference purposes and subject to change.

•Itineraries with the most up to date details (at the time) will be issued when you are emailed your final cruise documents 21 days prior to sailing. Final itineraries with the most up to date details will be provided by the Destination Services Team once you board the ship. Please review your final itinerary carefully for any amendments.

At the revered Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, stand in the shadow of a sacred pipal tree, brought to Sri Lanka in the 3rd century B.C. by Sanghamitta. This living relic is celebrated as the oldest historically documented tree, a testament to the deep spiritual roots that anchor Anuradhapura’s legacy.

After your cultural adventure, unwind back at the luxurious Uga Ulagalla resort, nestled in serene surroundings that promise a restful afternoon and evening and time for quiet reflection, a perfect ending to your journey through Sri Lanka’s spiritual heart. Lunch is on own today and dinner at your leisure is included.

Note: A kind reminder to dress modestly with clothing that covers shoulders and knees, remove hats, caps, and footwear when entering sacred areas, and avoid taking photographs with your back facing stupas or statues, in respect to local customs. For your safety, please refrain from feeding any animals around the site.

Optional (additional cost) activities are available at the resort – please see https://www.ugaresorts.com/ulagalla/experiences/things-to-do for a complete list. These can be booked directly with the hotel.

    DAY 3 – April 21, 2028

Rise early this morning for an ascent of the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the most famous attraction in Sri Lanka. The round-trip climb takes approximately 2-2.5 hours and is optional.

Known for its massive column of rock that reaches nearly 200 meters high, this site dates back to the reign of King Kasyapa (477-495 AD), who chose this site as his new capital. He decorated the walls with frescoes and built an impressive palace right on top of the rock column, accessible only through the mouth of an enormous carved lion.

The city includes moat and wall fortifications, elaborately landscaped gardens, and a monastery along with exquisite frescoes and the remains of the royal palace on the summit.

At the summit, your guide will unfold the captivating history behind this ancient royal citadel as you take in the breathtaking panoramic views.

Continue with an immersive village experience, engaging with local traditions and daily lifestyles, followed by a delicious authentic Sri Lankan village lunch prepared with fresh, home-style flavors. A 15-minute foot massage is included!

In the afternoon, embark on a thrilling half-day safari jeep game drive at Minneriya National Park (or similar) with a skilled naturalist, offering the chance to witness majestic wild elephants and the park’s remarkable biodiversity. The park also hosts leopards, sloth bears, and numerous bird species, making it a popular wildlife sanctuary.

Note: Please note that climbing up to the summit at Sigiriya Rock Fortress requires a good fitness level but is by no means mandatory. There are many series of steps, both rock and metal, narrow and wide, some are spiral and some steep and many are along the side of the structure. Guests with a fear of heights should not climb. The safari park visited will depend on weather - Kaudulla National Park and Eco Park are also located within the same region. Guests are reminded not to feed animals and to maintain a respectable distance for safety and conservation.

At the end of this incredibly adventurous day, return to the resort for dinner at your leisure and overnight.

    DAY 4 – April 22, 2028

After breakfast, check out and begin the scenic journey to Kandy. En route, explore the magnificent Dambulla Cave Temple, where a historian will guide you through the intricate cave paintings and ancient narratives that bring this UNESCO World Heritage Site to life.

Arriving in Kandy, enjoy a tasty light lunch at the elegant Kandy Royal Bar before continuing your cultural immersion.

After lunch, visit the revered Temple of the Tooth Relic for an enriching and respectful experience. Your guide will lead you through its sacred chambers, explaining the temple’s deep spiritual significance. This UNESCO World Heritage site houses Buddha's left canine tooth and is considered a premier Buddhist pilgrimage site. The tooth is kept in a golden casket shaped like a stupa, which is never opened, but the casket is displayed during rituals.

Next, engage in a guided city tour led by a knowledgeable local expert who will share the stories, traditions, and hidden gems of the city.

Check in at your hotel and take some time to relax before a cultural show at the hotel, celebrating Sri Lanka’s vibrant traditional arts and dance. Dinner will follow the show.

Note: A kind reminder to dress modestly in clothing that covers shoulders and knees and remove hats, caps, and footwear when entering sacred areas. Photography is allowed only in permitted areas at the Temple. Avoid taking photos inside the inner shrine rooms and never pose with your back facing religious statues or the temple’s sacred spaces.

    DAY 5 – April 23, 2028

After enjoying a hearty breakfast, check out and meet your guide. Begin the day with a serene visit to the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, accompanied by a botanist guide who will share fascinating insights into the diverse plant species, rare orchids, and historic trees that make this garden one of Asia’s finest.

Afterwards, begin the comfortable drive back to Colombo which will take approximately four hours. A boxed lunch including a sandwich or wrap, pastry, salad, cheese, crackers and fruit or similar will be provided to enjoy during the drive.

In the afternoon, join Mark Forbes (a curator, researcher, photographer, wildlife enthusiast and the man behind the brainchild ‘Colombo City Walks’) for an engaging walking tour through the bustling streets of Pettah, Colombo’s vibrant commercial hub to discover hidden gems, colonial architecture, and captivating stories that reveal the city’s rich heritage and charm.

Following this enlightening walking tour, check in at your hotel and enjoy dinner before retiring for the evening.

Note The walking tour includes uneven terrain, narrow alleyways, and crowded areas. Comfortable shoes are a must. If Mark is not available, one of his team will lead the group.

DAY 6 – April 24, 2028 (ship is overnight in Mumbai)

After breakfast, check out and transfer to the Colombo Airport for a flight to Mumbai, India. Fast track departure service is included.
