Land Programs & Hotels

  • Embark on a remarkable journey through China’s timeless marvels. Fly to Xi’an, the vibrant heart of Shaanxi Province, where you’ll explore celebrated sites such as the world-renowned Terracotta Warriors Museum, the historic Wild Goose Pagoda, the lively Muslim Quarter, the impressive Grand Mosque, and the insightful Xian Museum. Cap off your visit with an enriching evening at the Tang Dynasty Theatre before returning to Hong Kong.

    Special Notes:

•Any guests travelling with Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines should read further below for airline stipulations with regards to bringing this equipment on tour.

•Please ensure that RSSC has your most up to date passport details for hotel and airline reservations at least 120 days before departure.

•If you have any food intolerances or special dietary needs, please contact the Regent Reservations Team at least 120 days prior to your departure. It is important that your land program extension reflects these details so our local vendors can ensure smooth and enjoyable dining experiences.

•Please review the documentation section further below as a Chinese Visa is required for this program

    Day 1

After arriving at the Hong Kong International Airport and passing through baggage claim and Customs, you will be met at ARRIVAL HALL B and transferred by private vehicle to your hotel.

The remainder of the day is at your leisure to relax, settle in and explore as you please. Check in time is at 3:00pm. Should you have an early arriving flight you may wish to book an extra night to guarantee your room is ready when you arrive.

Meals are on your own today.

Note: Couples or pairs will be transferred by private van or SUV (max 4 large bags total plus 1 carry-on per person); solo guests will use a sedan (2 large suitcases plus a carry-on). Extra luggage may require a larger vehicle at additional cost—notify your RSSC booking agent at least 14 days before sailing with this information. Transfers include driver only.

    Day 2

Following breakfast at the hotel and check out, you will be transferred to the airport for a flight to Xi’an. Upon arriving in Xi’an and passing through immigration, customs and baggage claim, you will start your tour with an exploration of the Muslim Quarter and its Grand Mosque. Muslims have lived in the quarter for more than 1,000 years ago, beginning with the merchants from Arabic countries that settled at this terminus of the Silk Road. The Grand Mosque is particularly fascinating, as it reflects traditional Chinese and Muslim styles.

Walk to the nearby Defachang Restaurant, popularly known for its dumplings. Carefully hand-prepared, the dumplings are available in dozens of different shapes and colors and filled with a variety of local ingredients. You can expect the meal to be wonderfully traditional.

After dinner, proceed to your hotel for check-in and an evening at leisure.

    Day 3

Following breakfast at the hotel, you will drive to the Terracotta Warriors Museum, a repository for thousands of clay soldiers that were buried with China’s first emperor to accompany him in his eternal rest. Considered one of the world’s greatest archaeological treasures, the 7,000 life-size terracotta warriors and horses were buried for centuries until excavated in 1974.

The warriors are grouped in battle order, rank by rank, some mounted on horse-drawn chariots and others in infantry groups armed with spears, swords and crossbows. Each figure was individually created with unique characteristics.

Following the tour and a traditional Chinese lunch at a nearby restaurant, visit the Xian Museum which houses a wealth of historical and cultural artifacts from different periods. The exhibition area is divided into three parts showcasing displays themed on “Ancient Capital Xi’an”, other offers insights into Xian’s urban landscape, societal life and development over 13 dynasties while the special exhibition halls display various Buddhist stone sculptures, ancient paintings, calligraphy and jade artifacts.

Return to your hotel to freshen up before driving to the Tang Dynasty Theatre for dinner and a cultural performance. The lively show features beautiful costumes, ancient music, poetry, singing and dance, some of which were developed as parts of ritual prayers for a good harvest. Following the lively performance, you will return to your hotel for the evening.

Note: The Xian Museum is closed on Tuesdays. An alternate site will replace this visit should it be closed during your program.

    Day 4

After breakfast at the hotel and check out and proceed to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. One of China’s most revered pagodas, it was built in 652 A.D. to house the sutras and figurines of Buddha that a Chinese monk brought to Xi’an. The building was eventually expanded to ten stories, although only seven stories remain, as the others were damaged in various wars. Nevertheless, the pagoda is recognized as a symbol of Xi’an.

Then, it’s on to a traditional hot pot restaurant for lunch, before driving to the airport for the flight back to Hong Kong. Upon arriving in Hong Kong, you will be transferred to your hotel where the remainder of the day is at your leisure. Dinner is on your own.

    Day 5

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before checking out and transferring to the port for embarkation.

    Documentation:

In general Hong Kong is visa free for most of the countries worldwide however guests will require a Visa to travel to Xian for this land program.

Please make sure to verify with the company you select to issue the Visa or your local Chinese Embassy, whether a single or multiple entry visa will be required based on your cruise itinerary as well as this program itinerary.

It is essential that any China visas be obtained prior to travel. We suggest consulting with your local Chinese Embassy at least 3 months prior to travel to obtain the necessary documentation or for any questions on the above in relation to this program.

VERY IMPORTANT – The name on your cruise booking, passport and visa must all be exactly the same for flight ticket purchase otherwise guests may be denied travel by flight. Please ensure that all documents are identical in spelling to the names provided for your cruise reservation including first, middle and last name. Manifests generated by the cruise line must match your travel documents.

Please also ensure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your planned date of return from China and it must have one entire blank page for the visa.

RSSC will require guests’ passport details within 120 days of sailing as hotels and airlines are requiring these details for reservations and ticketing. Please ensure the most up to date details are added to your booking before this time. Rooms and flight tickets will not be guaranteed without this information. Should you be waiting for new passport details, kindly submit what you have and then provide new details once secured. You will be required to bring both passports with you for this journey for check in for flights.

Visa requirements are subject to change and Visa procurement is the responsibility of each guest.

Not having the required documents ahead of time will result in denial of travel and guests will be required to pay any expenses incurred to not proceed with the program.

The above information is subject to change and serves as a guide only. We would like to take this opportunity to remind all of our guests that it is the ultimate and sole responsibility of the guest to ensure they meet the entry requirements for each destination.

If traveling internationally, the countries you are flying to and/ or connecting through may have different document requirements and as such we encourage you to visit the government and airport websites of every country you will be traveling to throughout the journey to familiarize yourself with their requirements.

    Currency:

The Hong Kong dollar (HKD) is the currency of Hong Kong.

    Electricity:

The standard electrical voltage in Hong Kong is 220 volts AC, 50Hz. Most hotel bathrooms also have outlets for 100 volts. If not, you will need a transformer for electrical devices. The majority of electrical outlets in Hong Kong take a three-pronged UK-style plug. We recommend bringing an adapter in case the hotel cannot supply one.

    Luggage:

On the flight from Hong Kong to Xi’an, guests are permitted to check in one piece of luggage not exceeding 20 KG (44 lbs.). Carry-on luggage must not be larger than 22x14x9 inches / one piece per person.

Excess luggage that you do not wish to take on the flight will be stored at the hotel in Hong Kong where you will be re-united with it on Day 4. If you exceed your luggage allowance on the flight, you will be subject to the fees imposed by the airline and payable upon check-in at the airport.

Carriage of Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines on internal flights per airline regulations (subject to change as each airline has their own regulations)

1.Portable Oxygen Concentrator (POC) - Guests must obtain a Doctor’s Certificate mentioning their medical condition and the need to carry a POC. Further paperwork may be required by the airline.

2.CPAP Machine NOT being used in flight – please advise RSSC at least 95 days before your cruise if you will bring a CPAP on the internal flight(s) used in this land program. Please supply the make, model and battery type.

3.CPAP Machine to be used during flight – same as above + a doctor’s note is required mentioning the need to use the machine during flight.

*Guests are required to bring with them any details from the manufacturer regarding the CPAP specifications. While most modern CPAP machines are FAA-approved for in-flight use, having a copy of your manufacturer’s FAA-approval status will help to quickly clear any confusion that may arise.

    * Not providing the above details in a timely manner may result in a denial of this equipment at the airport for which Regent Seven Seas Cruises nor our local ground operator will be responsible for.

*Some hotels do not provide distilled water. While we can certainly request this for you, we cannot guarantee that it will be available. If received in a timely manner, at least 95 days before sailing, requests will be sent on the final manifest that our ground operators and hotels receive. We highly recommend packing your own supply, especially on programs that travel to more remote locations in order to avoid not having it. Please keep in mind the rule for liquids in carry-on bags. Many hotels will charge for distilled water. If there is a fee, this will be added to your hotel incidental account to be paid at check-out. Fees will vary from hotel to hotel.

There may also be a need to climb steps or stairs on occasion. Guests who utilize a wheelchair and those with mobility concerns are advised to check with the cruise line in advance to see if any portion of the tour program may not be considered suitable for their individual situation. If you will have more luggage, a larger vehicle may be required for additional cost. Please advise your booking agent at least 14 days before sailing if a larger vehicle is required. Transfers are with driver only.

    Day 2

After breakfast, proceed to Hong Kong Island. For the ultimate view of the surroundings, you will ride the re-vitalized tram up to Victoria Peak. The world’s steepest funicular railway, the Peak Tram opened in 1888 and has been providing spectacular panoramas ever since. As you ascend, you may notice that the steep slope causes an optical illusion in which the skyscrapers seem to be standing at impossible angles.

After pausing for photos at the peak, you will drive on to Aberdeen fishing village and board a sampan boat. While on the water, you can expect to see fishing boats, Chinese junks and villagers doing chores. The experience offers a candid look into daily life, as does your next stop—the last remaining jewelry outlet featuring handmade unique designs combining East and West influences.

Following lunch, it’s on to vibrant Stanley Market, a highly popular shopping destination for merchandise such as silk garments, Chinese costume jewelry and art. As an alternative in Stanley, you might explore Tin Hau Temple, which once stood at the edge of the sea, and the Murray House, an early 19th-Century building that was moved from its original site to the seaside.

Your next destination is the Star Ferry for a ride across Victoria Harbour viewing the beautiful skyline of the city.

Following the Star Ferry, return to your hotel for an evening at leisure and dinner on your own. A must see is the vibrant Night Market!

    Day 3

After breakfast at the hotel, depart for a visit to a bustling food market that sells all kinds of fresh products, dried herbs and seafood. Next door is the century old Man Mo Temple dedicated to the gods Man (Literature) and Mo (Martial Arts). It serves as a center of worship for the community.

Next, drive to the fragrant 'Flower Market' - the center of HK's wholesale and retail floral business. Specialty shops and sidewalk displays showcase exotic blooms and plants from all over the world, as well as from Hong Kong's New Territories.

Your tour then continues to the hidden gems in the City – the sacred Chi Lin Nunnery, a Buddhist temple complex, and the charming Nan Lian Garden of the Tang Dynasty where each stone, tree, rock or water element is landscaped after specific rules and regulations. With the backdrop of Chi Lin Nunnery, you will find the typical Hong Kong high-rise buildings making for an interesting clash of old, new, calm and hustle.

After sampling a Chinese dim sum lunch at a local restaurant, you will be transferred back to Kowloon with a stop the West Kowloon Cultural District. Visit the Hong Kong Palace Museum which presents over 900 priceless treasures from the Beijing Palace Museum. Many are on display for the first time in Hong Kong, while others have never been shown to the public before. The Museum also regularly presents special exhibitions featuring Chinese art and culture, as well as art and treasures from other parts of the world.

After your visit, return to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure, and dinner is on your own. Perhaps try the famous Peking Duck – Your concierge can make a reservation for you the best restaurants!

Following breakfast and check out from the hotel, you will be transferred as a group to the cruise ship for embarkation.

As you relax and enjoy your meal, the unique sounds of native birds settling in for the evening create a tranquil background nature’s own music.

The journey continues with a short drive to a traditional Balinese house compound. The Balinese home is often viewed as a living organism. • Just beyond Bali’s familiar shores, this four-day escape reveals the untamed beauty of Flores and Komodo National Park, where rugged island landscapes, crystalline waters and rare wildlife encounters unfold at an unhurried pace. From a serene stay in Sanur to a refined coastal retreat overlooking the Flores Sea in Labuan Bajo, guests are immersed in one of Indonesia’s most extraordinary regions—meeting the legendary Komodo dragons on Rinca Island, cruising past dramatic coastlines, snorkelling from quiet beaches and embracing the relaxed rhythm of island life.

    Special Notes:

•Any guests travelling with Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines should read further below about airline stipulations with regards to bringing this equipment on tour.

•Please advise the RSSC Reservations team when you book this program should you have any special dietary restrictions or requirements. Requests will be sent to our local ground operators for review. Changes will not be able to be accommodated at the last minute.

    DAY 1

Disembark the ship in Benoa. Separate any excess luggage for storage and transfer from the pier to the Bali Airport for a flight to Labuan Bajo.

Located on the western tip of Flores, Labuan Bajo is the gateway to the legendary Komodo National Park, home to the world’s last remaining Komodo dragons. While the dragons themselves remain protected within the national park and are not visited today, the surrounding region offers an equally captivating landscape of rugged hills, island-dotted seas, and some of Indonesia’s most pristine marine environments.

Labuan Bajo retains the charm of a once-sleepy fishing village, now gradually evolving into a sophisticated base for exploration. Life moves at a gentler pace here, defined by sweeping ocean views, dramatic sunsets, and a strong connection to the surrounding land and sea.

Upon arrival, you are welcomed and transferred to a locally inspired restaurant overlooking the harbour. Here, fresh seafood and regional flavours provide a relaxed introduction to Flores, accompanied by views across the bay toward scattered islands that hint at the extraordinary landscapes beyond.

After lunch, continue inland to Melo Village, a traditional Manggarai village set high in the hills above Labuan Bajo.

The journey itself offers sweeping views over the coastline and surrounding islands. Upon arrival, you are welcomed by the local community and introduced to their customs and daily life. A highlight of the visit is a traditional Caci whip dance performance, a unique cultural ritual showcasing strength, skill and deep-rooted heritage. Time is also available to take in the panoramic vistas and capture the dramatic scenery before returning toward the coast.

Following your visit, continue to your hotel and check in. The remainder of the day is at leisure to enjoy the resort’s facilities. Your accommodation is set within a peaceful coastal retreat, thoughtfully designed to blend with its natural surroundings. Overlooking the Flores Sea, it offers an elegant and tranquil base for your time in the region.

For those seeking a slower pace, the property features spa treatments (additional cost) inspired by local healing traditions, along with quiet spaces to unwind and take in the natural beauty of the surrounding islands.

As the day draws to a close, Labuan Bajo reveals one of its most memorable moments—the sunset. The sky transforms into a canvas of deep oranges and soft purples as the sun dips behind the islands, creating a perfect end to a day that captures the spirit of this remarkable region. Dinner is at your leisure, allowing you to choose when and where to dine in the calm surroundings of the resort.

Note: For groups of ten guests or more staying in-house, a Regent Seven Seas Hospitality Desk will be available at the hotel. Please ensure that your luggage is packed according to what you are taking and what you are storing prior to disembarking the ship.

    DAY 2

This full-day experience explores the dramatic landscapes and extraordinary wildlife of Komodo National Park, combining a guided encounter with Komodo dragons on Rinca Island with time on the water discovering some of Indonesia’s most pristine marine environments.

The day begins directly from Ayana, where guests board a private speedboat from the resort jetty.

Cruising through the island-dotted waters of the national park, the journey itself is a highlight. Dramatic hills rise from turquoise seas, with untouched beaches and rugged coastlines unfolding along the way.

Upon arrival at Rinca Island, guests are met by expert park rangers for a guided walk through the island’s dry forest and savannah landscape. This is one of the most reliable locations to observe Komodo dragons in their natural habitat, alongside Timor deer, water buffalo, wild boars, macaque monkeys and native birdlife. A choice of short or longer walking routes is available, allowing guests to select an option suited to their comfort level. All walks are conducted at a measured pace, with ranger supervision and safety briefings throughout.

Before or after the walk, there is also time to visit the small on-site museum and ranger station, offering insight into the behaviour, conservation, and unique ecology of the Komodo dragon and the wider national park.

A stop is made at Pink Beach, where guests can snorkel in clear, calm waters over vibrant coral reefs, or relax along the shoreline and take in the striking contrast of soft pink sand against turquoise seas.

Lunch bento boxes are served at Pink Beach.

In the afternoon, there may be an additional swim stop or a gentle cruise past some of the park’s most scenic viewpoints before returning directly to Ayana by mid to late afternoon.

This evening, enjoy a group dinner at Kisik Seafood Restaurant, set directly on the beach at Ayana.

Note: Please bring a towel from the hotel for the beach stop. Snorkel equipment is provided or guests may bring their own. Komodo viewing is from a raised boardwalk as well as sand/gravel paths.

    DAY 3

After breakfast, check-out, settling any incidentals before your transfer to the airport and the flight back to Bali.

Upon arrival in Bali, you will be met by our local guide who will assist you with a transfer from the airport to your hotel for the evening. Guests will be reunited with any luggage that was stored.

The remainder of the day will be at your leisure. Lunch and dinner are on your own today.

    DAY 4

After breakfast and check-out, you will be transferred by private vehicle to the Bali International Airport in accordance with your flight details. Should you have a later departing flight, luggage storage will be available until your transfer. Check-out time at the hotel is 12:00pm.

Solo travellers will transfer in a sedan and couples in a van. Sedans hold 2 pieces of luggage, plus 2 carry-on bags. Vans hold 4 pieces of luggage plus, 2 or 3 carry-on bags. If you have more luggage than is permissible, a larger vehicle may be required for additional cost. Please advise your booking agent at least 21 days before sailing if a larger vehicle is required.

    Expected Weather:

Hot and Dry. December in Labuan Bajo is typically warm with daytime temperatures averaging 30–32°C (86–90°F). Rain is possible but usually brief and scattered. Humidity can rise during midday, especially inland. The coastal breeze offers some relief, but sun exposure is strong throughout the day.

    What to Bring:

This is a casual and culturally immersive program, so lightweight, breathable clothing is recommended along with good walking shoes and bathing attire.

Please keep local customs in mind:

•Avoid revealing clothing; covered shoulders and knee-length shorts or skirts are appropriate for village visits.

•Bring a hat or head covering, sunscreen, sunglasses, and mosquito repellent—especially for early morning or evening activities.

•Comfortable, closed-toe walking shoes are essential for village terrain. Flip-flops or sandals are not recommended for cultural visits.

•A small pack of tissues or wet wipes can also be useful, as facilities may be basic in rural areas.

•While dinner is relaxed, you may wish to bring a casual outfit for the evening.

    Local Currency:

The local currency in Indonesia is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Credit cards are not widely accepted outside of a few hotels and restaurants, so it is essential to carry cash. While some places may accept US Dollars, it is not guaranteed. Rupiah is strongly preferred for local purchases, tips, and entry fees.

We recommend bringing smaller denominations of USD for emergency use, but it’s best to exchange money before arriving in Flores, either in Bali, or at the airport. ATMs in Flores are limited and may not always be reliable, so prepare accordingly.

    Electricity

Rooms are typically equipped with 220-volt, two-round-pin (European-style) electrical outlets. We recommend traveling with a universal adapter if you plan to use electronic devices from other countries.

    Luggage information

On the flights between Bali and Labuan Bajo guests will be permitted to check one bag per person weighing no more than 20kg (44lbs) and one small carry on that will fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you.

If you wish you may store excess luggage with our local ground operator in Bali at the hotel. Please ensure that all excess bags are tagged properly and visibly with your full name and suite number on the ship. You will be re-united with it on Day 3. Please pack accordingly as bags will be separated when you disembark the ship.

Note that Regent Seven Seas Cruises, the hotel, nor our local ground operator are responsible or liable for any lost or missing items. We do not recommend leaving valuables behind or in checked luggage. You should keep any valuables, medications and documents with you in your carry-on handbag.

Carriage of Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines on internal flights per airline regulations (subject to change as each airline has their own regulations)

    1. Portable Oxygen Concentrator (POC) - Guests must obtain a Doctor’s Certificate mentioning their medical condition and the need to carry a POC. Further paperwork may be required by the airline.

    2. CPAP Machine NOT being used in flight – please advise RSSC at least 95 days before your cruise if you will bring a CPAP on the internal flight(s) used in this land program. Please supply the make, model and battery type.

    3. CPAP Machine to be used during flight – same as above + a doctor’s note is required mentioning the need to use the machine during flight.

*Guests are required to bring with them any details from the manufacturer regarding the CPAP specifications. While most modern CPAP machines are FAA-approved for in-flight use, having a copy of your manufacturer’s FAA-approval status will help to quickly clear any confusion that may arise.

    * Failure to provide the above details in a timely manner may result in a denial of this equipment at the airport for which Regent Seven Seas Cruises nor our local ground operator will be responsible for.

    Documents and Visa Requirements:

Guests must carry a valid passport with at least 6 months’ validity.

Guests will need to complete entry visa requirements before arriving in Indonesia – please consult your local embassy for further entry requirements for your nationality.

    VERY IMPORTANT

The name on your cruise booking, passport, and ANY visas, if required, must all be exactly the same for flight ticket purchase for this program otherwise guests may be denied travel by flight. Please ensure that all documents are identical in spelling to the names provided for your cruise reservation including first, middle and last name.

Manifests generated by the cruise line must match your travel documents. Guests are responsible to make sure that there are enough pages in their passports for any visas that are required – Minimum two pages for each visa.

Failure to have the required and correct documents ahead of time could result in denial of travel and guests will have to pay for any expenses incurred in order to not proceed with the program or guests may need to purchase new flight tickets at their own cost.

The above information is subject to change and serves as a guide only. We would like to take this opportunity to remind all of our guests that it is the ultimate and sole responsibility of the guest to ensure they meet the entry requirements for each destination.

If traveling internationally, the countries you are flying to and/ or connecting through may have different document requirements and as such we encourage you to visit the government and airport websites of every country you will be traveling to throughout the journey to familiarize yourself with their requirements for your nationality.

    Day 4

Should you have a later flight, you may store luggage at Reception, check out and continue to use the facilities of the hotel until your transfer time.

Note: A private van will be used to transfer guests between the airport and the hotel. Vans hold a maximum of four large pieces of luggage (total) plus one carry-on sized bag per person. If you will have more luggage, a larger vehicle may be required for additional cost. Please advise your booking agent at least 14 days before sailing if a larger vehicle is required. Transfers are with a driver only.

    What to Bring

Lightweight clothing, comfortable shoes, a hat, camera, bathing suit and sunscreen.

Some hotels do not provide distilled water. While we can certainly request this for you, we cannot guarantee that it will be available. If received in a timely manner, requests will be sent on the final manifest that our ground operators and hotels receive. We highly recommend packing your own supply, especially on programs that travel to more remote locations in order to avoid not having it. Many hotels will charge for distilled water. If there is a fee, this will be added to your hotel incidental account to be paid at check-out. Fees will vary from hotel to hotel.

    Local Currency

    Indonesian Rupiah (abbreviated to Rp.)

Only Indonesian Rupiah payments are accepted

    Electricity

Voltage in Indonesia is 220 volts, so a transformer will be needed to operate 100-volt appliances. We recommend bringing a universal travel adapter for electric devices.

    Documents and Visa Requirements

Guests are required to have a passport that is valid for six months after travel.

All guests will need to complete an Indonesian Arrival Card prior to entering the country. This single card combines a customs declaration online form, an Indonesia health pass and basic Immigration details. This does not replace a Visa.

e-VOA is short for electronic visa on arrival. It allows you to apply for Visa on Arrival (B1) online before arriving in Indonesia, saving you time at the airport. The e-VOA will grant you 30 days of stay in Indonesia, which can be extended once for another 30 days.

Please visit the official website of the Indonesian Government Immigration for further details on entry requirements.
