Land Programs & Hotels

  • Embark on a remarkable journey through China’s timeless marvels. Fly to Xi’an, the vibrant heart of Shaanxi Province, where you’ll explore celebrated sites such as the world-renowned Terracotta Warriors Museum, the historic Wild Goose Pagoda, the lively Muslim Quarter, the impressive Grand Mosque, and the insightful Xian Museum. Cap off your visit with an enriching evening at the Tang Dynasty Theatre before returning to Hong Kong.

    Special Notes:

•Any guests travelling with Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines should read further below for airline stipulations with regards to bringing this equipment on tour.

•Please ensure that RSSC has your most up to date passport details for hotel and airline reservations at least 120 days before departure.

•If you have any food intolerances or special dietary needs, please contact the Regent Reservations Team at least 120 days prior to your departure. It is important that your land program extension reflects these details so our local vendors can ensure smooth and enjoyable dining experiences.

•Please review the documentation section further below as a Chinese Visa is required for this program

    Day 1

After arriving at the Hong Kong International Airport and passing through baggage claim and Customs, you will be met at ARRIVAL HALL B and transferred by private vehicle to your hotel.

The remainder of the day is at your leisure to relax, settle in and explore as you please. Check in time is at 3:00pm. Should you have an early arriving flight you may wish to book an extra night to guarantee your room is ready when you arrive.

Meals are on your own today.

Note: Couples or pairs will be transferred by private van or SUV (max 4 large bags total plus 1 carry-on per person); solo guests will use a sedan (2 large suitcases plus a carry-on). Extra luggage may require a larger vehicle at additional cost—notify your RSSC booking agent at least 14 days before sailing with this information. Transfers include driver only.

    Day 2

Following breakfast at the hotel and check out, you will be transferred to the airport for a flight to Xi’an. Upon arriving in Xi’an and passing through immigration, customs and baggage claim, you will start your tour with an exploration of the Muslim Quarter and its Grand Mosque. Muslims have lived in the quarter for more than 1,000 years ago, beginning with the merchants from Arabic countries that settled at this terminus of the Silk Road. The Grand Mosque is particularly fascinating, as it reflects traditional Chinese and Muslim styles.

Walk to the nearby Defachang Restaurant, popularly known for its dumplings. Carefully hand-prepared, the dumplings are available in dozens of different shapes and colors and filled with a variety of local ingredients. You can expect the meal to be wonderfully traditional.

After dinner, proceed to your hotel for check-in and an evening at leisure.

    Day 3

Following breakfast at the hotel, you will drive to the Terracotta Warriors Museum, a repository for thousands of clay soldiers that were buried with China’s first emperor to accompany him in his eternal rest. Considered one of the world’s greatest archaeological treasures, the 7,000 life-size terracotta warriors and horses were buried for centuries until excavated in 1974.

The warriors are grouped in battle order, rank by rank, some mounted on horse-drawn chariots and others in infantry groups armed with spears, swords and crossbows. Each figure was individually created with unique characteristics.

Following the tour and a traditional Chinese lunch at a nearby restaurant, visit the Xian Museum which houses a wealth of historical and cultural artifacts from different periods. The exhibition area is divided into three parts showcasing displays themed on “Ancient Capital Xi’an”, other offers insights into Xian’s urban landscape, societal life and development over 13 dynasties while the special exhibition halls display various Buddhist stone sculptures, ancient paintings, calligraphy and jade artifacts.

Return to your hotel to freshen up before driving to the Tang Dynasty Theatre for dinner and a cultural performance. The lively show features beautiful costumes, ancient music, poetry, singing and dance, some of which were developed as parts of ritual prayers for a good harvest. Following the lively performance, you will return to your hotel for the evening.

Note: The Xian Museum is closed on Tuesdays. An alternate site will replace this visit should it be closed during your program.

    Day 4

After breakfast at the hotel and check out and proceed to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. One of China’s most revered pagodas, it was built in 652 A.D. to house the sutras and figurines of Buddha that a Chinese monk brought to Xi’an. The building was eventually expanded to ten stories, although only seven stories remain, as the others were damaged in various wars. Nevertheless, the pagoda is recognized as a symbol of Xi’an.

Then, it’s on to a traditional hot pot restaurant for lunch, before driving to the airport for the flight back to Hong Kong. Upon arriving in Hong Kong, you will be transferred to your hotel where the remainder of the day is at your leisure. Dinner is on your own.

    Day 5

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before checking out and transferring to the port for embarkation.

    Documentation:

In general Hong Kong is visa free for most of the countries worldwide however guests will require a Visa to travel to Xian for this land program.

Please make sure to verify with the company you select to issue the Visa or your local Chinese Embassy, whether a single or multiple entry visa will be required based on your cruise itinerary as well as this program itinerary.

It is essential that any China visas be obtained prior to travel. We suggest consulting with your local Chinese Embassy at least 3 months prior to travel to obtain the necessary documentation or for any questions on the above in relation to this program.

VERY IMPORTANT – The name on your cruise booking, passport and visa must all be exactly the same for flight ticket purchase otherwise guests may be denied travel by flight. Please ensure that all documents are identical in spelling to the names provided for your cruise reservation including first, middle and last name. Manifests generated by the cruise line must match your travel documents.

Please also ensure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your planned date of return from China and it must have one entire blank page for the visa.

RSSC will require guests’ passport details within 120 days of sailing as hotels and airlines are requiring these details for reservations and ticketing. Please ensure the most up to date details are added to your booking before this time. Rooms and flight tickets will not be guaranteed without this information. Should you be waiting for new passport details, kindly submit what you have and then provide new details once secured. You will be required to bring both passports with you for this journey for check in for flights.

Visa requirements are subject to change and Visa procurement is the responsibility of each guest.

Not having the required documents ahead of time will result in denial of travel and guests will be required to pay any expenses incurred to not proceed with the program.

The above information is subject to change and serves as a guide only. We would like to take this opportunity to remind all of our guests that it is the ultimate and sole responsibility of the guest to ensure they meet the entry requirements for each destination.

If traveling internationally, the countries you are flying to and/ or connecting through may have different document requirements and as such we encourage you to visit the government and airport websites of every country you will be traveling to throughout the journey to familiarize yourself with their requirements.

    Currency:

The Hong Kong dollar (HKD) is the currency of Hong Kong.

    Electricity:

The standard electrical voltage in Hong Kong is 220 volts AC, 50Hz. Most hotel bathrooms also have outlets for 100 volts. If not, you will need a transformer for electrical devices. The majority of electrical outlets in Hong Kong take a three-pronged UK-style plug. We recommend bringing an adapter in case the hotel cannot supply one.

    Luggage:

On the flight from Hong Kong to Xi’an, guests are permitted to check in one piece of luggage not exceeding 20 KG (44 lbs.). Carry-on luggage must not be larger than 22x14x9 inches / one piece per person.

Excess luggage that you do not wish to take on the flight will be stored at the hotel in Hong Kong where you will be re-united with it on Day 4. If you exceed your luggage allowance on the flight, you will be subject to the fees imposed by the airline and payable upon check-in at the airport.

Carriage of Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines on internal flights per airline regulations (subject to change as each airline has their own regulations)

1.Portable Oxygen Concentrator (POC) - Guests must obtain a Doctor’s Certificate mentioning their medical condition and the need to carry a POC. Further paperwork may be required by the airline.

2.CPAP Machine NOT being used in flight – please advise RSSC at least 95 days before your cruise if you will bring a CPAP on the internal flight(s) used in this land program. Please supply the make, model and battery type.

3.CPAP Machine to be used during flight – same as above + a doctor’s note is required mentioning the need to use the machine during flight.

*Guests are required to bring with them any details from the manufacturer regarding the CPAP specifications. While most modern CPAP machines are FAA-approved for in-flight use, having a copy of your manufacturer’s FAA-approval status will help to quickly clear any confusion that may arise.

    * Not providing the above details in a timely manner may result in a denial of this equipment at the airport for which Regent Seven Seas Cruises nor our local ground operator will be responsible for.

*Some hotels do not provide distilled water. While we can certainly request this for you, we cannot guarantee that it will be available. If received in a timely manner, at least 95 days before sailing, requests will be sent on the final manifest that our ground operators and hotels receive. We highly recommend packing your own supply, especially on programs that travel to more remote locations in order to avoid not having it. Please keep in mind the rule for liquids in carry-on bags. Many hotels will charge for distilled water. If there is a fee, this will be added to your hotel incidental account to be paid at check-out. Fees will vary from hotel to hotel.

    Special Notes:

•This program involves walking distances at times over uneven ground. It is not recommended for guests who require use of wheelchair, walker or cane.

•Please advise the RSSC Reservations team when you book this program should you have any special dietary restrictions or requirements. Requests will be sent to our local ground operators for review. In Japan, dietary requests including vegetarian cannot be accommodated on the day, so please notify in advance for review.

    DAY 1

After arriving at the Hong Kong International Airport and going through the luggage claim and Customs, you will be met in the Arrival Hall and transferred by private vehicle to your hotel.

The remainder of the day will be at your leisure and meals will be on your own. Feel free to simply settle in and relax or you might explore areas of Hong Kong not on the itinerary.

An RSSC Hospitality desk will be available today where our staff will be happy to provide you with local information, maps, optional tours, dinner reservations etc.

The Murray is a five-star heritage landmark reimagined as a contemporary urban sanctuary in the heart of the Central district on Hong Kong Island. Originally a 1960s government building, this architectural icon has been transformed by Foster + Partners into a sophisticated retreat offering 336 spacious rooms and suites, many with panoramic views of Hong Kong Park and the city skyline. Guests can indulge in world-class dining at five distinctive venues, including the glamorous rooftop restaurant Popinjays, and unwind at the serene wellness centre featuring a spa, indoor lap pool, and fitness facilities. Perfectly positioned on Cotton Tree Drive, the hotel is steps away from the Peak Tram, luxury shopping districts, and cultural attractions, making it an ideal choice for discerning travellers seeking elegance, history, and convenience in one of Asia’s most vibrant cities.

Note: A private van or SUV will be used to transfer couples or parties of two between the airport and the hotel. Vans hold a maximum of four pieces of large luggage (total) plus one carry-on sized bag per person. A sedan will be used for solo guests, which can hold 2 large suitcases and a carry-on. If you will have more luggage, a larger vehicle may be required for an additional cost. Please advise your booking agent at least 14 days before sailing if a larger vehicle is required. Transfers are with driver only.

    DAY 2

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be guided on foot from the Murray Hotel to Peak Tram Terminus. Then, you will ride the newly revamped tram up to Victoria Peak. The world’s steepest funicular railway, the Peak Tram opened in 1888 and has been providing spectacular panoramas ever since. As you ascend, you may notice that the steep slope causes an optical illusion in which the skyscrapers seem to be standing at impossible angles. After pausing for photos at the peak, you will drive on to Aberdeen fishing village and board a sampan boat.

While on the water, you can expect to see fishing boats, Chinese junks and villagers doing chores. The experience offers a candid look into daily life. The tour will continue with a visit to Repulse Bay with a photo stop. This is one of Hong Kong’s most popular and beautiful beaches. Overlooking Repulse Bay is the former Repulse Bay Hotel which has long been a landmark of the southern side of the island. Huge statues of Tin Hau, Goddess of the Sea and Kwum Yum, Goddess of Mercy now overlook the beach. After the visit, you will return to hotel for a refreshment.

Later in the day, assemble at the hotel for an evening harbour cruise on the Aqualuna Chinese junk. Relax on a lounge bed, sip on a refreshing drink and soak up the sights and sounds of Hong Kong’s harbour and stunning skyline during the 45-minute Harbour Cruise.

The cruise will be followed by a delicious Peking Duck dinner at Peking Garden restaurant or similar venue. Originated in the Imperial capital of Peking, this is a feast fit for emperors. The duck is air-dried, basted with a soybased glaze and then roasted. When it is ready, the bird is ceremoniously carved at the table.

Transfer back to your hotel and evening at leisure.

    DAY 3

Following breakfast at the hotel, today you will visit the cultural treasures of mountainous Lantau. The largest island in the Hong Kong archipelago, it is linked to the mainland by the world’s longest two-deck suspension bridge.

Transfer by coach with your guide and visit Tai O fishing village, where people live much the same as their forebears did over a century ago. Here, enjoy a walking tour of “Little Venice” past charming fishing boats, stilt houses, canals and racks hung with drying fish.

Continue to visit Po Lin Monastery, a picturesque Buddhist retreat. Tour the monastery and view the world’s largest seated outdoor Buddha. Next, a vegetarian lunch is served at the Monastery.

Move on to visit the cultural park and village of Ngong Ping 360. Browse the shops before boarding the Ngong Ping Skyrail, a 25-minute cable car ride with stunning views of Hong Kong, Kowloon and Lantau (weather dependent) then return to hotel. Dinner is on your own.

An RSSC Hospitality desk will be available this evening.

Their aim is to encourage the young generation to perpetuate this ancestral know-how while creating unique and desirable products, allowing them to further develop their core skills to become autonomous and financially independent.

Continue to look around the Old Market (Phsar Chas) - the most popular with tourists and visitors, offering the greatest selection of souvenirs, textiles, handicrafts, statues, and curios of any of the traditional markets.

Back at the hotel, enjoy dinner and an Apsara cultural show

Overnight at the Borei Angkor Resort or similar hotel

    DAY 3

This morning after breakfast, visit the Angkor Wat Temple Complex, seat of the once mighty Angkor Empire and the highlight of your program. It was from here that kings ruled over a vast territory that extended from the tip of what is now southern Vietnam, northward to Yunnan in China, and westward to the Bay of Bengal.

Your guide will point out the best spots for taking photos of this massive temple complex as you walk amidst the moss-peppered cobbled pathways, gaze up at the intricately carved tower tops and perhaps climb the steep and narrow temple steps that lead to wide courtyards. Lose yourself in contemplation as you catch the rays of the sun dancing off the bas relief carvings, the chatter of monkeys reverberating off the temple walls.

You will have approximately 2 hours to explore its archaeological treasures with your guide before returning to your hotel.

Following your unforgettable exploration of the temples, you will return to the hotel to freshen up and check out. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Singapore (passports are returned) where upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. You will also be reunited with any stored luggage. Dinner is on your own.

    DAY 4

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and check out. Transfers to the Singapore Airport will be based on your flight times. For guests with late flights, luggage storage is available at the hotel until your transfer time. Check out time is 12:00pm.

•Meals other than breakfast are on your own after Day 4 of your program.

    Transfers:

•All guests booking their flights independently are required to ensure the cruise line has their most up to date flight details so that transfers to the airport can be arranged. If flight details are not received 14 days before your cruise start date, transfers will not be arranged.

•Should you book any extra nights on your own or your flight is not on the last day of the program, transfers are not included.

•Should you have a late departing flight you may wish to book an extra night so that you have occupation of your room until your departure.

•You will be asked to vacate your room by 12:00pm. Day rooms can only be purchased directly through the hotel.

    Expected Weather:

Hot and Dry. The average midday temperatures can hover to upper 30s C (85-90 F), especially in inland areas like Siem Reap. It is less breezy at this time of year. The sun can be quite intense, and the air becomes hazier with the rising humidity. Though sometimes quite hot, the lack of rain still leaves this good time of year to visit the temples.

    What to Bring:

On this tour the key words are comfortable and casual. Remember we are visiting a foreign country and local dress codes should be observed.

*Please avoid uncovered shoulders, shorts or revealing clothing.

*Full length trousers or pants and/or skirts covering the knees are required to be worn when visiting Angkor Wat

Although dinners are not formal, you may want to bring something a bit dressier for that time of day.

Bring a hat or a head covering for sun protection and don’t forget your sunscreen, sunglasses and bug spray (you should have mosquito repellent for sunrise and sunset hours). It’s also a good idea to bring along a small packet of tissues or wet wipes. It is also suggested that guests wear flat comfortable walking shoes (not sandals or open toed shoes / flip flops). Guests are requested to take off their footwear and hats when visiting religious sites.

    Currency:

Guests are encouraged to bring US Dollars with them as they are most commonly accepted in Cambodia. The local currency is the Cambodian Riel. You should take smaller denominations of US Dollars with you, as they will keep you from ending up with a lot of local change that you will not be able to re-exchange back home.

    Electricity:

Rooms are equipped with 220-volt, two-pin US style electrical outlets. We recommend travelling with your own adapter kits should you have electronic devices.

    Water:

Avoid tap water and drinks with ice in them. Drink mineral water and drinks in sealed containers. Water at the hotels in both Singapore and Siem Reap is potable.

    Luggage:

For a program of this length and nature, we suggest no more than one suitcase per person.

Luggage Weight Restrictions: 20kg (44lbs) - Light luggage would be most suitable for this 3-night trip. Please note that the airlines allow a maximum of 1 checked suitcase (20 kg or 44lbs) and one small carry on. Any additional pieces will be in excess, and fees will be paid to the airline at the guests’ expense. If you wish you can store excess luggage in Singapore at the hotel. You will be reunited with it on Day 3. Please ensure that all excess bags are tagged properly and visibly with your full name and suite number on the ship. Note that Regent Seven Seas Cruises, the hotel, nor our local ground operator are liable for any lost or missing items. We do not recommend leaving valuables behind or in checked luggage. You should keep any valuables, medications and documents with you in your carry-on handbag.

Carriage of Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines on internal flights per airline regulations (subject to change as each airline has their own regulations)

    1. Portable Oxygen Concentrator (POC) - Guests must obtain a Doctor’s Certificate mentioning their medical condition and the need to carry a POC. Further paperwork may be required by the airline. Please advise RSSC of the specifics at least 14 days before sailing.

    2. CPAP Machine NOT being used in flight – please advise RSSC right away (pre cruise program) or the Destination Staff on board the ship (post cruise or overland programs) at least 96 hours before the program starts if you will bring a CPAP on the internal flight(s) used in this land program. Please supply the make, model and battery type.

    3. CPAP Machine to be used during flight – same as above + a doctor’s note is required mentioning the need to use the machine during flight.

*Guests are required to bring with them any details from the manufacturer regarding the CPAP specifications. While most modern CPAP machines are FAA-approved for in-flight use, having a copy of your manufacturer’s FAA-approval status will help to quickly clear any confusion that may arise.

    * Failure to provide the above details in a timely manner may result in a denial of this equipment at the airport for which Regent Seven Seas Cruises nor our local ground operator will be responsible for.

*Some hotels do not provide distilled water. While we can certainly request this for you, we cannot guarantee that it will be available. If received in a timely manner, requests will be sent on the final manifest that our ground operators and hotels receive. We highly recommend packing your own supply especially on programs that travel to more remote locations in order to avoid not having it. Please keep in mind the rule for liquids in carry-on bags. Many hotels will charge for distilled water. If there is a fee, this will be added to your hotel incidental account to be paid at check-out. Fees will vary from hotel to hotel.

    Documentation:

Guests must carry a valid passport with at least 6 months validity after the program dates and have spare pages for the Cambodian Visa. Visas will be issued on arrival in Siem Reap and are included in the cost of the program.

All travelers (Tourists, Expats and Cambodians) are now required to submit the Cambodia e-Arrival Card within 7 days before their arrival via a mobile app or at https://arrival.gov.kh/

Guests are also required to submit an electronic Singapore Arrival Card within three days prior to arrival into Singapore. They are not permitted any earlier. Please follow instructions on this website https://eservices.ica.gov.sg/sgarrivalcard/ or through the official “MyICA” mobile application. Submissions are free of charge.

VERY IMPORTANT – The name on your cruise booking, passport and any visas if required, must all be exactly the same for flight ticket purchase for this program otherwise guests may be denied travel by flight. Please ensure that all documents are identical in spelling to the names provided for your cruise reservation including first, middle and last name. Manifests generated by the cruise line must match your travel documents.

Failure to have the required documents ahead of time or incorrect names on flight tickets will result in either denial of travel or ticket re-purchase and guests will be responsible for any fees incurred.
