Land Programs & Hotels

  • Discover the natural wonders of western Canada, from the vibrant city of Calgary - home to the iconic Calgary Stampede - and the majestic peaks of the Rockies to the tranquil vineyards of the Okanagan Valley and the coastal charm of Vancouver. This immersive journey blends dramatic landscapes, cultural encounters, and world-class cuisine for an unforgettable western exploration.

    Special Notes:

•This program begins in Calgary, Alberta and ends in Vancouver, British Columbia where guests will board the ship. Guests must fly to Calgary for the start of the program.

•Guests with mobility concerns should be aware that some walking and uneven terrain may be involved.

•If you have any food intolerances or special dietary needs, please contact the Regent Reservations Team at least 95 days prior to your departure. It is important that your land program extension reflects these details so our local vendors can ensure smooth and enjoyable dining experiences.

    DAY 1 – July 15, 2027

Arrive at Calgary International Airport where you’ll be greeted in the Arrival Hall and transferred by private vehicle to your hotel. Enjoy the evening at leisure to relax or explore the city’s lively downtown. Meals are on your own today.

Check-in time at the hotel is 3:00pm. Should you have an early arrival, you may wish to book an extra night, so your room is available when you arrive.

Note: Couples or pairs will be transferred by private van or SUV (max 4 large bags total plus 1 carry-on per person); solo guests will use a sedan (2 large suitcases plus a carry-on). Extra luggage may require a larger vehicle at additional cost—notify your RSSC booking agent at least 14 days before sailing with this information. Transfers include driver only.

    DAY 2 – July 16, 2027

After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a full day at leisure to experience Calgary at your own pace. Savor the freedom of the day - explore the city’s vibrant neighborhoods, stroll along the river pathways, or simply relax and enjoy the amenities of your hotel.

Your visit will coincide with the world-famous Calgary Stampede (July 9-18, 2027) - a renowned 10-day annual rodeo, exhibition, and festival held every July in Calgary featuring the world's largest outdoor rodeo, nightly chuckwagon races, a selection of concerts, a midway, and agricultural displays. The city truly comes alive during this time period as approximately one million people each year take part in “The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth”.

We encourage you to take the opportunity to immerse yourself in the excitement of this iconic celebration of Western heritage. From its thrilling rodeo events and lively music to artisan markets and regional cuisine including free pancake breakfasts, the Stampede delivers an unforgettable taste of Alberta’s frontier spirit. (All admissions are at your own cost). Don’t forget your western attire!

Please visit the Stampede website for a calendar of events, pricing and ticket purchase.

    https://www.calgarystampede.com/

Lunch and dinner and any activities are on your own today.

    DAY 3 – July 17, 2027

After breakfast and check out, meet your guide and depart Calgary for an awe-inspiring drive into the heart of the Canadian Rockies.

Stop for photos at Lake Louise, famed for its turquoise waters and glacier backdrop, then continue to Banff. Take in the sights of this charming alpine town nestled in Banff National Park.

After a western-style three-course lunch, enjoy a scenic gondola ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain for stunning panoramic mountain views before checking in to your hotel. (Note: as this is a very popular attraction, there may be lines even with a scheduled lift time).

Ideally set against the slopes of Sulphur Mountain, The Rimrock Resort Hotel is nestled within the vast wilderness of Banff National Park—a UNESCO World Heritage site where majestic peaks, winding rivers, and endless sky tell the story of the earth. The Resort is only a short distance from Banff’s remarkable sights and attractions and guests can take advantage of complimentary transportation throughout the Banff townsite thanks to the hotel’s partnership with ROAM transit. Upon check-in, the Concierge will provide the shuttle schedule for your convenience.

Dinner is included at the hotel this evening.

    Note:

Rooms at the Rimrock are with 1 king or two queen beds. Bedding cannot be guaranteed but if two beds are required, please advise no later than 120 days before departure so that your request can be sent to the hotel.

    DAY 4 – July 18, 2027

After breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion to the Columbia Icefield, one of the largest ice masses south of the Arctic Circle.

Begin with a journey across the Athabasca Glacier aboard the Ice Explorer, a specially designed all-terrain vehicle. These impressive vehicles, often called "monster buses," are equipped with six large, low-pressure tires that allow them to safely traverse steep 32% inclines and icy surfaces without harming the glacier itself. Once on the glacier, visitors can step off the vehicle for 15–30 minutes to walk across the ancient, 10,000-year-old ice, snap photos, and even sample crystal-clear meltwater straight from the glacier. Throughout the journey, a driver-guide provides engaging commentary about glaciology, the region's history, and the environmental changes impacting the area.

Continue with a walk along the Glacier Skywalk, which features a glass-bottomed viewing platform. The Columbia Icefield Skywalk offers access to fossils, waterfall vistas, and remarkable glacier landscapes along a one-kilometer interpretive walkway adjacent to routes frequented by mountain goats and other wildlife. The experience culminates with a suspended platform, where only glass separates guests from the terrain located 918 feet (280 meters) below.

A simple buffet lunch will be served at the Icefield Centre, offering a chance to relax and take in the spectacular surroundings. (Note: due to the number of people that visit on a daily basis, the buffet area is expected to be quite busy).

Following your day of exploration, return to Banff and unwind at your hotel. The evening is at leisure, and dinner is on your own.

Note: Wear warm layers and sturdy footwear with good traction, as conditions on the glacier can be very cold and slippery even in summer.

    DAY 5 – July 19, 2027

After breakfast and check out, meet your group and journey west through the breathtaking landscapes of Yoho National Park, with stops at natural wonders such as Emerald Lake and the Natural Bridge.

Enjoy a western-style 3-course lunch en route. Continue to the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia’s renowned wine region, explore the surrounding sights before arriving in Kelowna for an overnight stay at the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort. Dinner is on your own.

Located lakefront and in the heart of downtown Kelowna, the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort is centrally situated and walking distance to shopping, restaurants and local attractions. Enjoy direct access to the Kelowna Boardwalk, Waterfront Park and Tugboat Beach.

Note: At Roger Pass, adjust your watch 1 hour backward from Mountain Time (MST) to Pacific Time (PST)

    DAY 6 – July 20, 2027

Savor a leisurely morning before checking out. As you begin the cross-province drive towards Vancouver you will learn about the climate and soil conditions within the Kelowna and Okanagan valley that create an optimal growing environment for its award-winning Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Gris.

Visit a local winery and savor a 3-course lunch with wine tasting before continuing on the scenic 5-hour drive to Vancouver. You’ll cross mountain and lake landscapes before arriving in one of Canada’s most vibrant coastal cities. Here you will check in to the Pan Pacific Hotel and then the remainder of the evening is at your leisure with dinner on your own. This is a wonderful opportunity to explore Vancouver’s vibrant and eclectic food scene. Often ranked among the world's best food cities, it excels in everything from high-end Michelin-starred experiences to gritty, authentic night markets.

Note: Today’s drive from Vancouver to Kelowna is lengthy but will include a lunch stop along the way. Restrooms are available on the coach.

    DAY 7 – July 21, 2027

After breakfast and checkout, take a morning city tour of Vancouver, visiting iconic spots such as Stanley Park and historic Gastown. Your epic tour across the Canadian Rockies concludes at Canada Place, where you'll embark the Seven Seas Explorer.

Upon disembarking the ship in Whittier, meet your Tour Director who will join you for the journey through Alaska’s interior during the next five days. Driving toward Anchorage, you will pass through a landscape so spectacular it holds three scenic designations: USDA Forest Service Scenic Byway, Alaska Scenic Byway, and All-American Road. Make a stop at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center to see indigenous animals to Alaska in their natural habitat.

In Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city, you will enjoy a brief orientation tour that will present some of the highlights and suggestions for lunch on your own in the downtown.

Following lunch, you will depart for Talkeetna, the quaint Alaskan town that provided the inspiration for the 1990s TV program “Northern Exposure.” It nestles at the confluence of three rivers: the Talkeetna, Chulitna, and Susitna.

After checking in at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge, you will attend an exclusive reception so you can get to know your travel companions. The evening is open for dinner on your own and to explore Talkeetna.

Although known for its restaurants, brewery and quaint shops, weather permitting, Talkeetna also offers extraordinary views of Mt. Denali. The highest peak in North America, Mt. Denali can usually be photographed from several locales around town, including the back deck of the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge, or similar, where you will spend the evening. Dinner is on your own.

    DAY 2

After breakfast at the lodge, board your Deluxe Dome Railcar for the journey to Denali National Park. Seating is upstairs in the dome, which offers incredible views of Alaska’s stunning natural beauty from all sides of the railcar. Lunch is included today onboard the train. The remainder of your day is open for optional activities, such as helicopter flightseeing over Mt. Denali, fly fishing, and whitewater rafting on the Nenana River. The prices for each activity vary. These programs can only be booked at the lodge and are independently operated with no affiliation to the cruise line.

After dinner on your own, you will spend the evening at the Grande Denali Lodge or similar.

    DAY 3

The day starts with an early breakfast at the lodge and then a bus trip into the park on the Denali Natural History Tour. Focusing on the rich natural and cultural history of the park, this program includes several interpretive stops and an hour off-bus experience. Begin with a stop to learn about the creation of the Denali Park Road with the film “Across Time and Tundra.”

Next visit Savage Cabin, the original ranger’s cabin, provides a living history into how the cabin was once used and how it continues to be used today. Finally, you will make a stop at Primrose Ridge to experience a memorable Alaska Native presentation that will enlighten you with how the land has been used for nearly 10,000 years. All along the way your naturalist driver-guide will provide a great introduction to the landscape, geology, and history of Denali National Park and Preserve. Tours are conducted in Denali National Park busses with a driver-guide.

This afternoon, re-board your deluxe motor coach and depart for Fairbanks.

Upon arriving in Fairbanks, you will transfer to the truly unique but delightful Pikes Waterfront Lodge or similar, your hotel for the next two nights. Dinner is on your own.

    DAY 4

After breakfast at the lodge, you will begin touring Fairbanks, where you will learn of its rich Gold Rush history. A stop will be made at Trail Breaker Kennels to meet the canine athletes that run some of the biggest dog sled races in the world. Located along the Chena River in Fairbanks, Alaska, Trail Breaker Kennel was established in 1980 by the husband and wife team of David Monson (Yukon Quest champion) and Susan Butcher (four-time Iditarod champion). Both were avid mushers and longed to fulfill their dream of mushing full-time and raising a family. In 1993, David and Susan decided to share their love of sled dogs with the public.

Trail Breaker Kennel is now one of the longest operating kennels in Fairbanks where visitors experience and enjoy an Alaskan mushing lifestyle. During the winter months, the Alaskan huskies train for and participate in sled dog races around Alaska. In the summer, the dogs take a break from racing and enjoy short training runs around the lake, swimming in the river, and interacting with visitors from around the world.

Following an included lunch at a restaurant in Fairbanks, you will get to spend time this afternoon at the Fountainhead Antique Auto Collection. This hidden gem rivals most collections found around the world and displays American-made antique automobiles and vintage clothing from Alaska’s post-Gold Rush era. Highlights include early steam, electric and hybrid cars, America’s first V16-powered automobile, and midget racecars. All automobiles in this collection are operational.

The remainder of the day is free for dinner on your own and other optional activities.

    DAY 5

Following breakfast at the lodge, you will transfer to the Fairbanks International Airport for your flight home.

    CLOTHING AND CLIMATE

With a broad variety of weather possibilities, we encourage you to bring clothes that are suited to layering. Attire in Alaska is strictly casual. Comfortable, supportive walking shoes are a must. The following items should be included: water-repellant coat or jacket, collapsible umbrella, rain hat, lightweight windbreaker and sweaters. It could be warmer inland with summer temperatures in Denali reaching 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

    ALTITUDE

Travel in Alaska is generally at lower elevations. The maximum altitude is 2,800 feet in Denali National Park.

    WEATHER CONDITIONS

Weather conditions are unpredictable. While the cruise line and its appointed ground operators will do everything possible to assist with alternative arrangements, we cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred if a land program, tour or private arrangement made through the cruise line is disrupted due to adverse weather.

    GENERAL INFORMATION

The published itinerary is based on component suppliers expected to be operating for the land program. Changes to the availability of flights, flight and tour schedules or other itinerary components out of the cruise line’s control may require an adjustment to the final itinerary. The local ground operator will handle meal vouchers, train tickets, or tour tickets included in the program. The cruise line reserves the right to substitute hotels, if necessary.

Please note: Land programs that encompass multiple days ashore customarily include extensive and prolonged activity, while those of shorter durations typically have more moderate activity levels. However, each program varies, and participants should be prepared to negotiate a mixture of surfaces which may include inclines, cobblestones, sand, and gravel or natural paths. There may also be a need to climb steps or stairs on occasion. Guests who utilize a wheelchair and those with mobility concerns are advised to check with the cruise line in advance to see if any portion of the tour program may not be considered suitable for their individual situation. Weather appropriate clothing; hats; sunglasses; and flat, comfortable walking shoes are generally recommended.

Please note: All land programs are capacity controlled and subject to availability. Programs falling under the minimum number of required participants are subject to cancellation. Pricing listed is also subject to change to meet unexpected cost increases for transportation, land arrangements or currency fluctuations. Cancellations made within 90 days or less prior to the sail date are subject to 100% cancellation penalty. There are no refunds for unused portions of any program.

Price: $3,199 per guest based on double occupancy.

Land program promotions are per person for guests 1 and 2 for one pre- or post-cruise program only, subject to terms.

  • See big, bold and genuine Alaska! Follow its scenic highways and famed Alaska Railway into rustic towns and through majestic Denali National Park, visit an Iditarod dog kennel, and view breathtaking, snow-mantled mountains.

    Day 1

After disembarking the ship in Whittier, you will meet your tour director and begin the drive to Girdwood. The road travelled passes through some of America’s most spectacular scenery and holds three scenic designations: USDA Forest Service Scenic Byway, Alaska Scenic Byway, and All-American Road. On the way, enjoy a stop at an organization dedicated to preserving Alaska’s wildlife. The center is a home and a refuge for many animals; bear, moose, elk, and other wildlife that call Alaska home.

Upon arriving and checking in to the beautiful Alyeska Resort, the remainder of the day is at your leisure with any meals on your own. You may wish to enjoy a ride to the top of Mt. Alyeska on the aerial tramway for a spectacular view of the surrounding area with its seven glaciers. Or, perhaps make an appointment at the outdoor Nordic Spa where you can soak in multiple hot and cool pools, make use of their steam rooms or book a massage (costs not included for tram or Nordic Spa). The resort also has an indoor heated pool and hot tub free of charge and several restaurants on site along with a shuttle that will take you to a small array of eateries off site.

    Day 2

After breakfast at the hotel, begin the four-hour scenic drive from Girdwood to Denali via the George Parks Highway, which winds through the kind of scenery that defines the Alaskan interior: tundra, soaring mountain peaks, glaciers, forests, wild rivers, and vast expanses primarily inhabited by animals such as moose, grizzlies, foxes and birds.

Along the way you will visit an Iditarod Sled Dog Kennel and learn about this truly Alaskan competition. Note: this is not a ride with the dogs. Traveling from Anchorage to Nome on the Bering Sea coast, each Iditarod team of 12 to 16 dogs and their musher cover 1,150 miles of Alaska’s most rugged terrain in 10 to 17 days. Add temperatures well below zero, scouring winds, and long hours of darkness, and it is no wonder that the Iditarod is called the last Great Race on Earth.

A boxed lunch will be provided en route.

Once you reach Denali, you will be transferred to the Grande Denali Lodge or similar, which perches on the edge of a bluff less than a mile from the entrance to Denali National Park.

Following an enlightening private lecture on Denali, your evening is free to enjoy dinner on-own and an overnight at the lodge.

    Day 3

The day starts with an early breakfast at the lodge and then the 4.5-hour Denali Natural History Tour. Focusing on the rich natural and cultural history of the park, this program includes several interpretive stops and an hour off-bus experience. Begin with a stop to learn about the creation of the Denali Park Road with the film “Across Time and Tundra.”

Tours are conducted in Denali National Park busses.

Upon returning to the lodge, enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure. Dinner is on your own.

    Day 4

After breakfast at the lodge, your morning is free to further enjoy exploring the area in or around Denali National Park before boarding the Alaska Railroad train. As you travel by rail the 4.5 hours to Talkeetna, seating is upstairs in the dome where you will enjoy views from all sides of the railcar. Lunch is included downstairs in the dining room.

After arriving in Talkeetna, whose downtown is a National Historic Site, you will board your motorcoach and continue south to Anchorage where you will check-in to the Marriott Hotel (or similar). The remainder of the day is at your leisure and dinner is on your own.

    Day 5

After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to the Anchorage airport for your flight home.

Hotel check-out time is 11:00am. Late check-out may be arranged and paid directly to the hotel on a space availability basis. For guests with late flights, luggage storage will be available at the hotel.
