Favorite day trips include trips to ruins of nearby St. Andrews Castle, where guests can view the preserved siege works; the Benedictine priory, Dunfermline Abbey and Palace, founded in St. Margaret in the 1070s; the Fife Folk Museum in the quaint village of Ceres; the Andrew Carnegie Birthplace Museum, the original home of the renowned industrialist in an 18th-century pantiled weaver's cottage. For a change of pace a little further afield, Blair Drummond Safari and Adventure Park, with driving/walking tours, a falconry display, and chimp island.
