Land Programs & Hotels

  • Discover Southern California’s coastal elegance and cinematic charm, from the golden shores of Long Beach to the star-studded streets of Hollywood and the island beauty of Catalina. Enjoy a luxurious stay at the Fairmont Breakers and embark on a journey filled with iconic sights, ocean breezes, and unforgettable experiences.

    Special Notes:

•This program involves moderate to extensive walking, including guided tours, museum visits, studio lots, and outdoor sightseeing. Some locations, such as Hollywood Boulevard, Catalina Island, and Shoreline Village, feature uneven terrain, stairs, or limited seating.

•While many venues are wheelchair accessible, guests using mobility aids may encounter challenges during ferry boarding, studio tours, or historic sites like the Battleship Iowa and Point Fermin Lighthouse.

•Guests must be able to access the semi-submarine via a ramp and approximately a dozen stairs to reach the cabin of the semi-submersible.

•Please advise the RSSC Reservations team when you book this program should you have any special dietary restrictions or requirements. Requests will be send to our local ground operators for review.

    DAY 1

Upon arrival at the Los Angeles International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Couples will transfer in a van, driver only and solo travelers in a sedan with driver only.

Check in time is at 3:00pm. Should you have an early arriving flight you may wish to book an extra night to guarantee room availability upon arrival or you may choose to store luggage at Reception and begin to enjoy the facilities of the hotel.

The Fairmont Breakers Long Beach is a luxurious oceanfront hotel located in the heart of Downtown Long Beach, offering easy access to the city's vibrant waterfront and cultural attractions. Just steps away, guests can explore Shoreline Village, the Aquarium of the Pacific, and the historic Queen Mary, while enjoying panoramic views of the Pacific and Catalina Island from the hotel’s rooftop lounge. With its blend of classic elegance and modern comfort, the Fairmont Breakers is an ideal base for discovering the coastal charm and rich history of Southern California.

A hospitality desk will be available in the lobby of the hotel on Day 1 of the program to assist with any questions you may have about the itinerary or the area including dining and activity recommendations.

    DAY 2

Start your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel before heading into the heart of cinematic history. Your first stop is the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, where the magic of film comes to life through immersive exhibits and iconic artifacts.

After soaking in Hollywood’s golden legacy, enjoy a casual lunch at the lively Original Farmer’s Market, a beloved LA institution brimming with global flavors.

The afternoon brings a behind-the-scenes look at the legendary Paramount Pictures Studio, where silver screen dreams are made.

As the sun begins to set, stroll along Hollywood Boulevard, taking in the Walk of Fame, TCL Chinese Theatre, and the Dolby Theatre, home of the Oscars. Return to your hotel in Long Beach with a camera full of memories and a day’s worth of stardust.

Spend the remainder of the evening at leisure, dinner in on own.

    DAY 3

After breakfast at the hotel, the day begins with a scenic journey across the Pacific aboard the Catalina Express ferry, where you’ll enjoy priority boarding, premium seating in the Commodore Lounge, snacks and a beverage as you cruise to Avalon on Santa Catalina Island.

Upon arrival in Avalon, the island’s quaint charm unfolds with a guided island discovery tour, offering a glimpse into its rich history and coastal beauty.

Next, go behind the scenes of the iconic Catalina Casino. Built in 1929, by chewing gum magnate William Wrigley, this jewel of the island has served as a cultural hub, hosting big band performances, movie previews by Hollywood moguls and community events. followed by a relaxing lunch at a local restaurant, where ocean views meet fresh island fare.

The afternoon brings underwater wonder aboard a semi-submersible vessel that will explore Lover’s Cove Marine Reserve, revealing Catalina’s vibrant ocean wildlife.

Then enjoy free time to explore shops, stroll the harbor, or simply soak in the island breeze.

The day winds down with a ferry ride back to Long Beach. Return to the hotel for a restful evening after a day filled with island magic. Spend the evening at leisure.

NOTE: The city of Avalon on Catalina Island is designed to be walkable. The island’s main mode of transportation is by golf cart. Golf carts are available for rent, at guests’ own expense, on a first come first served basis, at various stands located near the ferry terminal.

    DAY 4

Begin your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel, fueling up for a journey that blends seaside charm, maritime history, and panoramic vistas.

After check-out, transfer to the ship via a half day coastal highlights tour, including a visit to Battleship Iowa. Set off for Shoreline Village, a vibrant waterfront destination where a guided walking tour unveils iconic sights like the majestic Queen Mary, the historic Spruce Goose Dome, and the shimmering Rainbow Harbor, all framed by the gentle sway of the Pacific.

The adventure continues south to Point Fermin Park, where the elegant Point Fermin Lighthouse awaits, with stories from a bygone era. A short scenic stroll leads to the Korean Friendship Bell, perched high above the ocean, offering sweeping views and a moment of reflection.

Next, dive into naval history aboard the legendary Battleship Iowa. Enjoy a special tour exploring presidential quarters and hidden decks, followed by free time to roam and imagine life at sea.

Finally, depart for the World Cruise Center where the cruise ship awaits your arrival to set sail on grand voyage.
