Land Programs & Hotels

  • Discover the joys of Thailand’s effervescent capital by cruising to a floating market, visiting iconic temples, browsing the Ancient City museum park and enjoying time to explore further on your own.

Note: All travelers must now complete a Thailand Digital Arrival Card, within 3 days of arriving in Thailand including the date of arrival at https://tdac.immigration.go.th/arrival-card/#/home

    DAY 1

Upon arrival to Bangkok’s international airport, a local English-Speaking guide will be waiting in arrivals to meet you and assist with your transfer to your city-based hotel for check-in.

Check in time is at 3:00pm at the hotel. Should you have an earlier arriving flight you may wish to book an extra night so a room is available upon your arrival. Luggage can also be stored at the hotel if your room is not ready when you arrive.

The day is at your leisure to settle in with any meals on own

The Shangri-La has a prime location nestled along the Chao Phraya River. With direct access to the SkyTrain, public ferries terminal and buses, the hotel is the perfect gateway to explore and discover Bangkok.

Should we have more than 15 guests participating in the program, there will be an RSSC Hospitality Desk providing local information and optional sightseeing tours that can be booked on site. A Welcome letter will be provided when you arrive with any further details.

    DAY 2

Following breakfast, set off on one of the most exciting and unique shopping sprees you’ll ever experience. Travel to the vibrant Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, a hodgepodge of merchants piloting small wooden boats filled with handicrafts, souvenirs, local food, and all sorts of unique finds. Even getting here is a special experience.

On a small boat, you’ll wind through a labyrinth of canals, lined with wooden houses on stilts, to reach the floating marketplace. Upon arrival, you’ll immediately find yourself immersed in the market’s rather chaotic, but always friendly, energy. Watch local women paddle their boats into position with incredible skill. Haggle for hand-carved wooden elephants, tiger balm, even traditional souvenir T-shirts. There are also plenty of places along the docks selling tasty Thai treats certainly worth trying. If you’re looking for a wonderfully unique shopping adventure, nothing tops the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market!

Return to your hotel where the remainder of the day is at your leisure. Lunch and dinner are on your own.

    DAY 3

After breakfast, meet your guide and tour of the city of Bangkok with a visit to the Grand Palace and Emerald Buddha Temple, considered by many to be one of the most beautiful examples of an ancient Siamese court.

Built at the beginning of the Chakri Dynasty in 1782 by King Rama I and covering nearly one square mile, the Palace served as the residence of the Thai Kings until 1949. Today, it is still used for Royal ceremonies and state occasions. Within the Palace compound is a collection of lavishly decorated buildings bejeweled with gilt and multi-colored glass mosaics and soaring finials topped with glittering spires. The highlight of your guided tour of the palace grounds is the Wat Phra Keo, also known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. One of the most celebrated sites in all Thailand, the temple houses one of the country's most sacred objects - a splendid Buddha statue carved from a single piece of emerald-green jasper.

Following your visit, return to your hotel where the remainder of the day is at leisure with lunch and dinner on your own.

    DAY 4

After breakfast and on the way to the port of Laem Chabang, stop at the Ancient City, built on a 200-acre site. This is like an open book of Thai history and allows visitors to gain a view of the real Thailand. During your tour you will see the numerous reproductions of palace halls, temples, stupas, stone sanctuaries, and traditional houses. You can also see several reconstructed historical buildings, authenticated communities with their daily chores and sample villages from all regions of the country.

Due to the enormous size of this fascinating attraction, you will view most of the city from the local tram, although some stops will be made along the way for interior or close-up looks at some of the sites such as the Old Market Town, Khao Phra Vihan (Preah Vihear), Sanphet Prasart Palace

Following your two-hour visit at the Ancient City, continue to Laem Chabang port and your ship.

    Please note:

-There is extensive walking over uneven ground at the temple sites - at times up to 2 km, with steps at Bayon and Angkor Wat. This tour is not suitable for guests with walking difficulty or if confined to a wheelchair. It can also be very hot and humid there.

    DAY 1 - February 26, 2027

After flying into the Bangkok’s International Airport, you will be met outside of Customs and transferred to your hotel. Check-in is at 3:00pm, and while every effort will be made to have rooms available earlier, this cannot be guaranteed. Should you have an early arrival time you may wish to book an extra night so that a room is ready upon your arrival.

Spend the remainder of the day settling in and enjoying the amenities at your hotel or the sites of the city. Meals are on your own today.

As guests can only bring one piece of checked luggage on the flight to Siem Reap, please pack accordingly. Any excess luggage will be stored at the hotel until your return on Day 4.

A Regent Seven Seas Hospitality Desk will be located in the hotel where you can find local information or sightseeing options. (Min 15 pax)

    DAY 2 - February 27, 2027

Following check out and luggage separation, you will transfer to Bangkok International Airport. Upon arrival, proceed through check-in for your flight to Siem Reap. You will be accompanied on the flight by a representative from our local ground agency.

On arrival in Siem Reap you will be met and assisted with obtaining your Cambodian Entry Visa. You will then proceed to the Angkor Site to collect your temple passes which are required for touring. Once this has been issued, board your coach for the transfer to your hotel for check-in and lunch on your own.

NOTE: Your passport will be kept by our program operations team in order to process the visa on arrival and for exit procedures on departure day. Your passport will be safely returned to you on Day 4.

Later in the day, venture to the Angkor Wat Temple Complex – the highlight of this program. You will have approximately 2 hours to explore its archaeological treasures with your guide before returning to your hotel.

Your guide will point out the best spots for taking photos of this massive temple complex as you walk amidst the moss-peppered cobbled pathways, gaze up at the intricately carved tower tops and perhaps climb the steep and narrow temple steps that lead to wide courtyards. Lose yourself in contemplation as you catch the rays of the sun dancing off the bas relief carvings at sunset, the chatter of monkeys reverberating off the temple walls.

    DAY 3 – February 28, 2027

Following breakfast, you will venture to the city of Angkor Thom including the renowned Bayon Temple built in the 12th Century, the Terrace of the Leper King and the Elephant Terrace, a sandstone wall covered with carved hunting scenes and three-headed elephants.

Continue to visit the un-restored temple of Ta Prohm which is famous for its forest atmosphere and enormous fig trees. This temple looks just as it did when the first European explorer arrived. It is also the location of many of the scenes filmed for Angelina Jolie’s huge blockbuster movie, Tomb Raider.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant and after lunch visit Satcha, a Cambodian handicrafts center that fosters local artisans, teaching them to mix traditional knowledge with contemporary design in order to showcase Cambodian’s talents to local and international visitors.

Continue with a look around The Old Market (Phsar Chas) - the most popular with tourists and visitors, offering the greatest selection of souvenirs, textiles, handicrafts, statues, and curios of any of the traditional markets.

Back at the hotel, enjoy dinner and an Apsara cultural show

Overnight at the Borei Angkor Resort or similar hotel

    DAY 4 - March 1, 2027

Start your day with an early breakfast at your hotel. Afterwards, check out and settle any incidental charges you may have incurred.

Next, board a private, air-conditioned transfer from your hotel to Siem Reap Airport for your flight back to Bangkok.

Upon arrival in Bangkok, our representatives will welcome you and guide you to your awaiting coach for a transfer to your hotel.

After lunch board a canal boat to experience Bangkok’s waterways and discover the attractions that highlight the charms of the river and canals. As you cruise the bustling Chao Phraya River, you will take in picturesque scenes of traditional life on the water, including floating grocery stores, water taxis zipping about, and teakwood houses built on stilts.

Stop to browse the Royal Barge Museum, which houses ornately decorated longboats once used for royal functions, including a gold-encrusted swan-shaped barge used solely by the king. Wat Arun, known as the Temple of Dawn, will present yet another side of Bangkok with its soaring tower-like spire that symbolizes Mount Meru, the center of the universe.

Upon your return, check in at the hotel and take some time to relax. Guests will be reunited with any excess luggage that you left for storage earlier in the program.

Dinner is on your own this evening.

Hot and Dry. The average midday temperatures can hover to upper 30s C (85-90 F), especially in inland areas like Siem Reap. It is less breezy at this time of year. The sun can be quite intense, and the air becomes hazier with the rising humidity.

    What to Bring:

On this tour the key words are comfortable and casual. Remember we are visiting a foreign country and local dress codes should be observed.

*Please avoid uncovered shoulders, shorts or revealing clothing.

*Full length trousers or pants and/or skirts covering the knees are required to be worn when visiting Angkor Wat

Although dinners are not formal, you may want to bring something a bit dressier for that time of day.

Bring a hat or a head covering for sun protection and don’t forget your sunscreen, sunglasses and bug-spray (you should have mosquito repellent for sunrise and sunset hours). It’s also a good idea to bring along a small packet of tissues or wet wipes. It is also suggested that guests wear flat comfortable walking shoes (not sandals or open toed shoes / flip flops). Guests are requested to take off their footwear and hats when visiting religious sites.

    Currency:

Guests are encouraged to bring US Dollars with them as they are most commonly accepted in Cambodia. The local currency is the Cambodian Riel. You should take smaller denominations of US Dollars with you, as they will keep you from ending up with a lot of local change that you will not be able to re-exchange back home.

    Electricity:

Rooms are equipped with 220-volt, two-pin US style electrical outlets. We recommend travelling with your own adapter kits should you have electronic devices.

    Water:

Avoid tap water and drinks with ice in them. Drink mineral water and drinks in sealed containers. Water at the hotels in both Bangkok and Siem Reap is potable.

    Luggage:

For a program of this length and nature, we suggest no more than one suitcase per person.

Luggage Weight Restrictions: 20kg (44lbs) - Light luggage would be most suited for this program. Please note that the airlines allow a maximum of 1 checked suitcase (20 kg or 44lbs) and one small carry on. Any additional pieces will be in excess and fees will be paid to the airline at the guests’ expense.

If you wish you can store excess luggage in Bangkok at the hotel from Day 2 to Day 4. It will be stored and you will be reunited with it on Day 4 when you return to the hotel in Bangkok.

Please ensure that all excess bags to be stored are tagged properly and visibly with your full name , cruise voyage suite number and name of the ship. Bring any medications, documents and valuables with you. Note that Regent Seven Seas Cruises, the hotel, nor our local ground operator are liable for any lost or missing items. We do not recommend leaving valuables behind or in checked luggage. You should keep any valuables with you in your carry-on handbag.

Carriage of Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines on internal flights per airline regulations (subject to change as each airline has their own regulations)

    1. Portable Oxygen Concentrator (POC) - Guests must obtain a Doctor’s Certificate mentioning their medical condition and the need to carry a POC. Further paperwork may be required by the airline. Please advise RSSC of the specifics at least 14 days before sailing.

    2. CPAP Machine NOT being used in flight – please advise RSSC at least 90 days before the program starts if you will bring a CPAP on the internal flight(s) used in this land program. Please supply the make, model and battery type.

    3. CPAP Machine to be used during flight – same as above + a doctor’s note is required mentioning the need to use the machine during flight.

*Guests are required to bring with them any details from the manufacturer regarding the CPAP specifications. While most modern CPAP machines are FAA-approved for in-flight use, having a copy of your manufacturer’s FAA-approval status will help to quickly clear any confusion that may arise.

    * Failure to provide the above details in a timely manner may result in a denial of this equipment at the airport for which Regent Seven Seas Cruises nor our local ground operator will be responsible for.

*Some hotels do not provide distilled water. While we can certainly request this for you, we cannot guarantee that it will be available. If received in a timely manner, requests will be sent on the final manifest that our ground operators and hotels receive. We highly recommend packing your own supply especially on programs that travel to more remote locations in order to avoid not having it. Please keep in mind the rule for liquids in carry-on bags. Many hotels will charge for distilled water. If there is a fee, this will be added to your hotel incidental account to be paid at check-out. Fees will vary from hotel to hotel.

    Documentation:

Guests must carry a valid passport with at least 6 months validity and have at least two spare pages for the Cambodian Visa. Visas will be issued on arrival in Siem Reap.

Wander the temple grounds before crossing the road to Wat Khili where this temple’s charming traditional library building houses an historic photo exhibition of Buddhist heritage.

Please consult your local Thai embassy for entry requirements for your nationality to enter Thailand.

Guests must carry a valid passport with at least 6 months validity and have multiple spare pages for the Lao Visa.

Visas are required for most nationalities for entry to Laos. Included in the cost of this program is VIP fast track entry and visa service upon arrival in Laos. • Experience the magnificent Angkor Wat, a temple complex in Cambodia built for King Suryavarman II in the early 12th Century as his state temple and capital city. As the best-preserved temple at the site, it is the only one to have remained a significant religious center since its foundation – first Hindu, dedicated to the god Vishnu, then Buddhist. The temple has become a symbol of Cambodia, appearing on its national flag and is the country's prime attraction for visitors.

    Please also note:

-There is extensive walking at the temple sites, with steps at Bayon and Angkor Wat therefore this program is not recommended for guests with mobility restrictions including use of a wheelchair or walker

-Flight schedules are subject to change and thus the tour sequence may vary

-Cambodian and Vietnam Visas are included in the tour and will be applied upon ship’s arrival in Sihanoukville and flight arrival into Saigon – note that one passport sized photo (3 x4 or 4 x 4 or 4 x 6) is required for the Vietnam Visa

-Two consecutive blank pages are required in your passport for each visa issuance (therefore 4 blank pages are required for this program).

All travelers (Tourists, Expats and Cambodians) are now required to submit the Cambodia e-Arrival Card within 7 days before their arrival via a mobile app or at https://arrival.gov.kh/

Special Note: Any guests travelling with Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines should read further below for airline stipulations with regards to bringing this equipment on tour.

    DAY 1 – March 3, 2027

Depart the ship in Sihanoukville and transfer to the airport for a flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, you will be meet and transferred to your hotel for check-in and leisure time.

Later in the day, you will have dinner at a local restaurant accompanied by a traditional performance. After dinner, return back to your hotel.

NOTE: A Cambodian Visa will be issued upon ship’s arrival into Sihanoukville. This is included in the cost of the program. At least 2 blank pages are required in your passport.

    DAY 2 – March 4, 2027

After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to the Angkor Thom Complex. Following lunch at a local restaurant, you will drive to Bantey Srei, the beautiful ‘Women’s Citadel’ located 32km from Siem Reap town. This is the last major Khmer temple to be re-discovered in Cambodia.

The day will end with a visit to the famous Angkor Wat. This is the highest and most magnificent

temple in Cambodia. This huge temple was built by King Suryavarman as a Hinduist temple with his

    tomb on the top tower.

Your guide will point out the best spots for taking photos of this massive temple complex as you walk amidst the moss-peppered cobbled pathways, gaze up at the intricately carved tower tops and perhaps climb the steep and narrow temple steps that lead to wide courtyards.

The remainder of the evening is at your leisure with dinner on your own
