Best of Barbados

Few places are quite so serene as Orchid World, where you will meander winding garden paths that lead to countless orchids and more than a thousand other Caribbean plants. You may see hummingbirds flitting about from blossom to blossom, exotic dendrobiums and oddly shaped succulents. Continuing to the parish of St. George, you will find Gun Hill Station, one of a series of signal stations that were once manned to warn of approaching enemy ships. From this elevated vantage point, you will be treated to spectacular views of the sea and beyond.

Speightstown’s Flavors Experience

On your guided tour, stroll through the streets where Bajan culture brings the island to life. See colorful market scenes and the heritage that has shaped the town’s identity. Later, indulge in a tasting experience at a local eatery, where you sample traditional snacks and dishes that capture the island's culinary spirit. As part of your tour, a visit to the Arlington Museum offers deeper insights into the town's storied past and evolving culture.

Catamaran & Sail

Relax aboard a catamaran and cruise along Barbados’ beautiful Platinum Coast. Snorkelers can expect to see schools of brightly colored tropical fish and perhaps even hawksbill sea turtles, which frequent the area because there are abundant sandy nesting sites within reach. If you spot one with a heart-shaped carapace, it is a young hawksbill turtle, as the shell elongates with age. On the return to Bridgetown, you will enjoy a delicious barbecue buffet with wine.

Harrison’s Cave Trail Tram and Rum

Sit back and enjoy the sights as an electric tram carries you through the subterranean world of Harrison’s Cave. You will pass colorfully illuminated stalactites and stalagmites that look like petrified waterfalls, many of them named for their shapes, such as the Chapel and the Altar. The area above ground is equally captivating, as you will discover by walking a nature trail to an aviary. Barbados is also known for its extraordinary rum, which has been distilled on the island since 1703. You will sample several blends of Mount Gay rum and learn about the company’s illustrious heritage at the on-site museum.
